“Ok...ish”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

Although it's hard to separate the different restaurants at Marina Royale, we (after a few nights of tat) tried this place and it was ok, but just ok. A foie gras starter did not taste right whatsoever, but fiancée enjoyed her main course meal of what was in effect curried tiger prawns. Winelist cheaper and better value than anywhere else in the area, but we wouldn't visit again. Service initially very attentive, then she just vanished, apart from when I went to pay and she was awaiting her tip (which she never got)

“You're in France”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

The Café de Paris is an authentic French brasserie with excellent food, attentive service and a very pleasant setting, one side on the Marina and the other on the water. You might see crews of fancy yachts having lunch there. This is a much better bet than the worn touristy places down by the ferry terminal. The Marina is the most interesting part of Marigot and the short walk there takes one through the real town, very much a slightly shabby French beach town transplanted to the Caribbean. Shops along the way can be of interest. When you are in the Café de Paris, you really are in France. The restaurants in Grand Case are almost all closed midday so this is the best lunch option in St. Martin.

“Simple, but good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Service was friendly, nice location and good value for the price. Both the steak tartare and the tuna tartare were excellent, as was the calf's liver.

“Prefect dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Brought the kids to Marigot for dinner and after walking the marina, we settled here because they had a kids menu and plenty of yummy items for us as well. Dined outside, the service was great. One of the waiters entertained the kids with his one-fingered plate spinning and other various table tricks. My husband loved the grilled lobster and I devoured the porchini risotto with truffle oil. The kids enjoyed a plate of charcuterie and pasta with garlic bread. The special goat cheese salad with apples and walnuts was outstanding and large enough to share as a first course. I would definitely return.
