“It's just okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

The property needs a lot work. The rooms are dated, they don't offer room service, the food service in general is lacking, breakfast is the same thing day in and they out. We were there seven days. The workers are friendly. The real reason to visit this property is the beach. It's clean and beautiful, also not far from front street. No casino on property but within a ten minute car ride there is a casino. They have a spa, we didn't use it. The fitness center is barely a gym but gets the job done. If management took more pride on this property it would be a real home run.

The beach was beautiful, but I was not impressed with hotel. The hotel rooms could use some updating and do not leave anything outside on the patio. My son's sneakers were stolen and the staff did not show much concern at all.

This was our 2nd. trip to Divi. The first time being 5 years ago. Both trips have been throught the RCI exchange program. This resort has one of the best locations on the island. It's within walking distance to Philipsburg, has beautiful beaches with an abundance of chairs and umbrellas, convenience stores, gift shops, dining options and taxi service is always available. We also love the fact that the island allows you to experience the Dutch, French, and Caribbean cultures.
Prior to our arrival, my husband corresponded with Natacha, the Desk Manager regarding some romantic packages that could be purchased to surprise me. He later told me that Natacha had been very responsive to his emails and provided him with numerous but extremely pricey options. He also requested upper floor accommodations(which we did receive).
We arrived at the resort approx. one half hour earlier than expected and didn't think much of it when told that our room wasn't ready but would be within 20-30 minutes. We received a pager and two drink coupons to pass the time. After 45 minutes, I could tell my husband was getting frustrated and we began to wonder if the pager was broke. Fortunately, we caught the attention of Harish(one of the managers) and within a few minutes our room was ready. Our room was a third floor renovated studio with a beautiful cathedral ceiling. Our only wish was that a few of the palm trees next to our balcony had been pruned to allow for a better view. The happiness that we felt with the room was quickly met with disappointment when we saw the "minimal" content of the $105 champagne, fruit and chocolate romantic package and the $20 artificial rose petals that my husband had purchased for me. He told me that never had he paid such a high price to impress me and received so little in return. To make matters worse, our Jacuzzi tub didn't work and one of our mornings was interupted by a two hour visit from the maintenance crew to completely take it apart and put it back together again.
Fortunately, we crossed paths with Harish again and he made the mistake of asking us how our stay was going. My husband voiced his disappointment about what we received for the romantic packages we purchased as well as the problems with our Jacuzzi. He stated that he would mention this to Natacha and true to his word, two days later we received a call from Natacha.
The result of that conversation was an apology and a gift of champagne.
Those experiences and the less than exceptional customer service skills of the staff turned out to be the only disappointments in our vacation. We ate at Gizmos numerous times and enjoyed everything from a simple burger on the beach to the fish of the day. The excursions that were offered were fun, the nightly entertainment was always enjoyable and we appreciated the manager's cocktail party and weekly farewell party.
You can't beat the location of this resort and its beautiful beach but for us to go back, there would have to be some customer service improvements. There are just too many other places that put forth that little extra effort that makes your vacation memorable.

I stayed at Divi Little Bay for 6 nights and what a perfect spot! The view from the condo balcony was breath taking! The beach is lovely. The staff friendly & helpful. Except for the crazy driveway into the resort (if you are trying to make a right lol) we had a excellent stay.
I only ate at the resorts restaurant for one breakfast buffet which was nice (St Maarten being such a culinary Island we ate all over the place and mostly on the French side) plus we had a full kitchen in the condo so we mostly made breakfast there. We did spend time at the bar at night after returning to the resort from our nightly activities.
I was a little disappointed that one of the pools was partly closed due to construction, so we were limited to the one pool. But I realize the time we were there was sort of a "off" period, it wasn't very crowded so it must be the time they get the resort ready for the upcoming busy winter months.
Also the location of the resort is so close to Phillipsburg and not too far a drive to Maho beach, Mullet bay and the restaurants in Simpson bay
I would definately stay here again!!

The funny thing was I was nervous being in St Maarten towards the end of Hurricane season only to come home to NY and got hit hard by sandy 2 weeks later.

We've visited Divi Little Bay twice. Twice in and of itself is amazing given that on the first visit the room we were in had a leak coming through the light fixture in the bathroom. The staff spent most of the week trying to fix it without success. It got so bad that on our final night we were moved to another room. We went back a second time because the beach is beautiful and the location of the resort is convenient. The second time our reservation which we booked through Orbitz had somehow gotten screwed up. Divi had us arriving and leaving a month earlier than we had a printed confirmation for. After a half hour of confusion Divi got us the room we had reserved but what a hassle. Then they didn't have our room on the housekeeping list so we had to raise hell to get our room made up. No one answered at the desk when we called for over 5 minutes. We had to walk over to the desk to get it done and even then it took 10 minutes of raising hell. Divi is just not a well run operation. It's beautiful but poorly run. Give it a second thought before going.

My wife and I just got back from Divi Little Bay and had an excellent time. We had visited St Maarten before but this was our first stay at Divi. The one bedroom condo was clean and large with more than enough room for 2 people! We had a full kitchen which allowed us to dine in a couple of nights. Staff was wonderful and helpful. We had a room balcony that looked out over Great Bay that was shaded from the afternoon sun. Plus the breeze over the water was excellent!

My husband and I just returned from the Divi Little Bay Resort on Saturday April 6. We couldn't have had a better experience. The staff and amenities were absolutely wonderful! The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were spacious and very clean. We had a one bedroom suite which was equipped with a kitchen that had everything you'd need. The resort has a gym, grocery store and three restaurants, beautiful pools and one of the nicest beaches on the island. It is centrally located to everything.

Room Tip: Book early if you want beachfront. We had a beautiful view but it was of the bay which was disappoin...
