Alot of shops, mainly jewellery and every kind you can think of. Everyone was friendly and helpful. You should have an idea of what you are to buy and know the prices as you can negotiate with the employees in the stores.

A walk down Front Street is a must while in St. Maarten, even if you're not a shopper (which I am not). The sights and sounds keep it interesting, and there is something there for everyone. The courthouse area and also Wathey Square down on the Boardwalk are quite picturesque. Stop inside the courthouse as it is open to the public (there was a trial going when my wife and I went in).

Good for a day trip. Looking for jewelry, booze, and cigarettes to take home, look no further. Various trinkets, small casinos, outdoor stalls selling anything you can think of. Don't be surprised to hear "good weed, mon" as you venture down the street. Don't fret, all part of the scene!

Some good stores, but mostly jewelry. Too many "hawkers" for our liking. The target is mainly the cruise ship crowd. And it is very crowded when he cruise ships are in port: there were 3 docked whenwe were there.
