While it's been a while since we took this tour, we are planning another cruise stopping in St. Maarten and the fact that we are considering this activity again should tell you something! Neither my wife nor I had ever rode horses before, but the guide who took us out was amazing, even taking our camera so that he could ride backwards and take pictures of both of us riding! The tour was very relaxing, yet informative. The guide knew the pacing of his tour well; when to just let us relax and observe and when to offer tidbits of information. The only unfortunate thing is the one end of the ride went along the edges of a construction site for a new hotel. This was two years ago though, so hopefully, that facility is finished. That one small negative aside, the other views were amazing, we saw some other wildlife along the trails, and the experience of going into the water riding the horse was really, really cool. The owners organized a cab for us both to and from our cruise ship, and although we were a bit nervous about our first "outside the states" adventure that wasn't an "official cruise activity", we were overwhelmed by the experience with Lucky Stables. Recommended to anyone for St Maarten.
Our actual visit was in March of 2010.
