I stayed at the Mango suite for two nights and wished it could have been longer. The Mango is more a large first-class private apartment than a suite of rooms for two with private sun deck and plunge pool at a mid-priced Caribbean holiday hotel. Above the large kitchen, dining area and sumptuously furnished sitting room is a very large, well appointed bedroom that has an unobstructed view of the Pitons and the Caribbean Sea. Wow! (see photo) No complaints about cleanliness or room service either. In fact I thought the hotel was well maintained and clean throughout.

There is a pleasant dining and bar area where guests can and do socialise. Martin and his wife, Monica, are great hosts and I found the staff relaxed and completely themselves.

Crystals is different, with style. I found it refreshingly unique and completely relaxing. I unreservedly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a hotel that is private and secluded but not too far off the beaten track to be able to enjoy getting out and about to experience, with 4X4, all that St Lucia has to offer.

I could go on, but I have read the reviews, so I would only be repeating what other guests have already written who also appreciated the very special charm of Crystals.

Everyone has their fairy tale wedding but we would like to share the location we choose for ours ...It was very special .. We have wonderful photos taken by Bill Mortleys son to remind us of our day but it was our hosts Monica and her husband Martin that made it so special with their thoughtfulness, not forgetting the lady who married us Imogene Mitchel. We stayed a week at Crystals before the wedding and had a wonderful time dodging the rain showers .eating at the niciest restaurants in the area ...our favourite being the Mango Tree on the Stonefield Estate and going every day to the beach at Anse Chastanet. Monica works very hard and she thinks of every small detail to make your holiday the best .She is very knowledgeable of the area and as we were only there for a short time was invalueable as we hits the best things to see and do The accommodation was very clean ,spacious and private. The views are out of this world and the back drop for many of our photographs -We truly recommend Monica and her team at Crystals to be an ideal place to get married or for your St Lucian holiday . We didnt want a conveyor type wedding that often happen in the bigger resorts Crystals ticked all the boxes for us Also if you are looking to hire a jeep try Benny on www.stluciajeeprentals.com Monica recommended him to us he picks you up at the airport drives you to Crystals so you dont have to worry about getting lost or finding it in the dark drops you and the jeep off and returns on time to take you back to the airport to get your flight home. Also remember to go to the Fond Doux Plantation it is the botanical gardens and has a working cocoa plantation which Prince Charles visited on his trip to St Lucia the flowers are beautiful and the food is good there too

“The Soul of Soufriere”

My wife and I have just returned from a week's vacation in the Soufriere area. Staying at Crystals proved to be the perfect place to stay. The location provided tranquility and privacy in a lush tropical rainforest setting. The cottages (Ours was the Coco Palm) are spacious, clean and offer incredible views of the pitons. The staff are nothing short of wonderful. It is impossible not to develop warm and real friendships with a staff who are genuinely interested in you as a person and not simply as a guest. Arlette, Wayne and Raz stand out as especially unique in their caring and good humour. Then there are the owners, Monica and Martin. The tone and philosophy of Crystals is clearly established with their lead. Upon arrival you are greeted like family and throughout your stay you actually feel like you have become part of their family. (During the week you will likely end up meeting many of their family and friends) No matter where you go within the Soufriere area, once you identify yourself as a guest of Crystals, you attain a special status. Monica and Martin are well known and respected by the people of the Soufriere area and the locals are, in turn, quick to extend their friendships with Monica and Martin to you. If you desire a vacation where you are close to St. Lucia's major attractions, want to immerse yourself in St Lucian culture, want to feel safe, comfortable and relaxed, then you should stay at Crystals, the "Soul of Soufriere".

My husband and I just returned from 4 nights at Crystals in St. Lucia. It was a wonderful experience! We were a little apprehensive due to the "bug" review from a couple of weeks ago but soon realized we had nothing to worry about. We were diligent at keeping the food put up and the Crystals girls kept the cottage VERY clean. Also, the pool and patio area were cleaned daily. The only bugs we ever saw were a random ant here and there. Our cottage, Sugar Cane, was beautiful! The furniture and decor is lovely and unique. The view of the Pitons is breathtaking.

The girls made us breakfast every morning in our cottage except on Sunday when we had a traditional St. Lucian breakfast in the common area with the other guests. The "common area" is anything but common...like something you see in a movie. The atmosphere is wonderful and laid back.

If you are "high maintenance" you will not like Crystals. But if you love adventure and are looking for one of a kind accommodations, Crystals is for you! I will definitely go back and definitely recommend it to most of my friends and family.

We visited the Jalousie beach and the beach at Anse Chastanet. Both were beautiful. One day we went to the Botanical Gardens which was awesome. We hung out by our plunge pool and listened to music one afternoon which rocked. We ate at the Hummingbird, Dasheen, and The Mango Tree. All were great but The Mango Tree was our favorite.

Overall, we had a WONDERFUL trip thanks to the people of Soufrière for their kindness, Benny for our car rental and transportation to and from the airport, and Monica and Martin and Arlette and the girls at Crystals for a great experience.

We are return visitors to Crystals and we had even more fun than our last visit!! We would like to give as much information to readers as possible since there have been some negative reviews which I think may be because of miscommunication or different expectations. My husband and I always look for places to stay that give us more up close and personal experiences in the country we visit. We prefer to interact with the local people and learn about their culture and homeland. As some of the reviews have stated this is not like an all inclusive resort - it's tucked away in the rainforest and you will be rewarded with an intimate feel of an exotic and beautiful tropical island. The cottages are very spacious and beautifully decorated with furnishings of exceptional quality and style. The Caribbean is pricey and for what you pay and what you get at Crystals it is amazing compared to other accommodations -and also views of a World Heritage sight. We stayed up at Rodney Bay first- very busy, noisy and commercial and the staff at the hotel were not friendly. The room was small and very boring. Some people like the resort areas and they should maybe stay there. Crystals provides a lot of of special perks that you would pay big bucks for at big upscale resorts. We love meeting other guests in the bar and at Sunday brunch. We love Crystals - ask us anything - we will try to give you our honest opinion - Monica has always gone over and above with anything she has done for us - she is really great at answering emails and taking care of any problems - I hope Crystals is around for a long time! Thanks Monica and Martin!!!
