“Haven of beauty and peace!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Very well-maintained gardens.
Hot water bath is so great. Baths were used for French soldiers recovery. It owrks, my skin and joints feel so great now.
Go there early before catamaran/cruise ship arrive in Soufriere.

“Nice gardens”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

We visited as part of a day trip from a cruise.
The gardens were in fact quite lovely despite the rain. Many beautiful & Colourful plants, their properties explained by our knowledgeable guide. There were many paths leading to other areas but we didn't get a chance to explore because of the time. A school for very young children was in the grounds.
The waterfall was ok.
Didn't try the restaurant & the toilets could be better sign posted - wasted time while many of our party were searching for it !!

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

If you use a local guide, they are very informative, but they will expect a tip. They can speed you around a bit quickly when you may prefer to go at your own pace.

“Lovely garden!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

We hired a freelance "guide" at the gates - more about him later. The garden has tons flowering, non-flowering and fruit bearing plants. My favourite was the cinnamon bark tree - the bark really did have this fresh cinnamon scent - which was brought over from India. Even though it rained heavily on us, we still enjoyed the tranquil and beautiful garden setting. Our guide was fine, he named plants rather than relating interesting facts, but that okay because we really didn't expect a botanist; however, when it came to the tip he did as for more, which I thought was quite bold of him. I enjoyed the delightful angel fish and grasshopper palm leaf weave art he weaved for us. All in all worth a visit. I just wished we took the time to explore a bit more on our own after the tour ended, but our taxi guide awaited. All in all worth a visit!

“Wander off the little paths.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

These are small gardens but beautifully tended and richly planted. There were some organised tours the morning we visited, but it was possible to meander off little paths and be away from the crowds. The lush planting soon absorbs the chatter of other visitors. The plants are well marked out, and the grounds staff were exceptionally knowledgeable and approachable. There is a large car park to the front of the gardens, so ample room for coaches and car drivers.
