The Tet Paul Nature Trail experience was one of our favorite in our 10 day stay on the island. I wanted to review it here not just to say how great it was, but to mention that it is much more than just a "hike" which is what we expected for some reason.
1. It is very low impact so if you have any limitations or are nervous--don't be, it's easy! The location of the start of the trail is actually up the hill past the Fond Doux estate. So you drive most of the way, then the trail starts almost at the top. So you get all of the great views from being at the top, without having to trek on foot all the way up.
2. We LOVED the educational aspect of the experience. Our guide was so knowledgeable and it was so fun to learn about the local agriculture and see all of the native plants grown and farming being done right on the property. The guide tore of small bits of some of the fragrant herbs, etc. that they grow for us to smell so we got the added sensory experience. We enjoyed the best views of both Pitons, and our guide was a skilled photographer who took our photos at the top.
3. I'd say it is the perfect laid-back activity in Soufriere. You learn a lot without feeling you are on a school field trip. You get amazing views without it being overly strenuous. and for $5 it was one of the best values of all the activities of the island. We also really respected that it was a local effort and the farmers of the area run tours and keep the trail up. They do a great job. Can't recommend enough.
