“A mud bath with 500 strangers??”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

I really don't understand why people pay to take a mud bath with 500 people they don't know... I found the pool to be especially nasty... Not for me..

“Different and worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

The actual volcano bit takes a little bit of imagination and the drive in part was a bit of a dissappointment, but its good to see an actual volcano close up.

The best bit of this is the mud bath, cover yourself in volcanic mud, let it dry and wash off in a warm open air bath with water heated from thermal springs.

Really different and a good thing to cover whilst on the island.

Top tip, dont wear your best swimwear, I noticed it turned ours orange in places!!
There are also showers to get the rest of the mud off if required, these are pretty chilly compared to the warm water in the bath.

Good option for young children as well

“Neat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

This was a neat experience. I don't know that I would do it more than once on the same trip, but it was definitely worth doing. Your skin feels soft after the full-body mud mask.

“Drive-in Volcano? Check!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

Have you ever wanted to drive into a volcano? Well you can do that here. The ticket price to enter is $8 US each. We were accompanied by a guide named Johnny. He was a good guide and he told us stories about coming to the sulfur springs as a kid and how they used to cook food in the hot mud. There are some stairs you need to take to get close to the steaming geological sight. The smell of rotten eggs is quite accurate. There is also a small creek which fed an old bath from long ago. We opted not to take the mud bath so I can't review that part but it was still a worthy trip.

“Fun we looked like the living dead”

Very reasonable, well worth a visit -
Cover yourself in the volcanic mud and then rinse on the mineral baths.

Nice afternoon x
