We stayed in this hotel last year for 3 days. We booked next door hotel Still Beach House, but it was closed. We tried everything…called owner, knocked the door, called to Expedia. But only owner from Hummidbird hotel help us. She invited to stay at their property, put luggage, and was trying to reach the owner. Finally we decided to stay there. And we loved everything there…view, staff, food. I want to return back!

I really loved my stay at The Hummingbird. The location was lovely, the restaurant was delicious and people still can't believe the pictures of The Pitons that I took while sitting in a chair on our balcony. I know there are more luxurious resorts on this beautiful island, but I have to say, there is a special feeling at this hotel I didn't find while visiting other resorts. If this is the price range you are going for, you cannot find a better hotel. I can't wait to go back and would not stay any where else for twice the price.

Even though my wife and I did not stay at Hummingbird, I can say that we would have liked to. Immediately upon arrival for dinner (without reservations), the owner (yes, the owner) greeted us and ushered us to the server. Our table was situated perfectly looking out into the bay and the Pitons, with a pleasant view of the hotel property as well. Our drinks were well-made and strong and the food was top-notch. We even came back a second time during this same visit.

Despite what some reviews had said, we thought the menu was affordable. It was well worth the money we spent for the food, drinks, ambiance, and service.

Staying at the Hummingbird is a truly wonderful experience! Small, only 10 rooms, on the beach with a breathtaking view, with a great staff, comfortable, airy rooms, fabulous food, VERY affordable price, and more hummingbirds than you can count!

This was our THIRD time at the Hummingbird (a week each time) and we can't wait to return.

The rooms are pretty, well kept, clean and comfortable- no air conditioning, but we didn't need it- the cool breeze, supplemented by floor and ceiling fans kept us plenty cool. Sitting by the pool or in the dining room, enjoying the beautiful view, the cool breeze, the great food, and the hummingbirds, has been one of the most relaxing experiences we've ever had. The nearby town of Soufriere is a small working town, not a resort town- there is very little tourist shopping- but we enjoying strolling through the town in the evening, talking to the people, who are all very friendly, and dining in the local restaurants- you must go to Archie's for their creole cooking!

The staff at the Hummingbird are all very friendly, attentive, and helpful- they really want to make our stay pleasant. David, the chef, can REALLY cook! The owner, Joan Alexander sees to it that you are made to feel at home. They all make us feel so special!

We scuba dived at nearby the Anse Chastenet Resort, but you can snorkel or scuba from the shore at the Hummingbird (they can get you set up with a dive shop nearby). Near Soufriere, a 30 minute walk from the Hummingbird, is a beautiful botanical garden with Diamond Falls, and a dormant volcano with bubbling mudpits is just a short drive away.

So much to talk about- you must go there and experience it yourself!
