The Almond Morgan Bay Beach Resort was a wonderful place to stay. I am normally a Hilton kind of girl, this was more like a really nice Hampton Inn. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous, the trees and the flowers were beautiful. We saw lots of humming birds around. We were met with a cool mint towel and rum punch, very nice after a long day of travel. The staff checked us in while we waited in the lobby, they took us and our luggage to our rooms. We stayed in the 500 block, it is centrally located to the beach, pools, restaurants and kids area. It was a short walk to everywhere. We stayed on the 2nd floor, which I think had a nicer balcony than the bottom floor. We could see and hear the ocean from our beds, so nice and relaxing. It was not very crowded, the restaurants and bars had no wait, we found the drinks really good, the kids loaded up on banana shakes all day. We used a lot of the water crafts that were included in the price. The recreation director Malie had stuff going on all day every day if you wanted something to do. The kids played soccer, cricket, and dodgeball on the beach. The water was a little cloudy the first day, then it cleared up. The food was just so-so, but the appetizers and desserts were very good. It definitely did not ruin the trip. We had banana bread with coffee at the Sunset Bar every morning, Frances the pool lady was very friendly. We took a tour of the island, go to the Marketplace, skip the volcano, botanical gardens and waterfall, the grounds at the resort are much more beautiful than the botanical gardens. Spend a whole day snorkeling at Ti Kaye resort, we were only there about 2 hours, it was better than snorkeling in Hawaii, definitely zip-line through the rainforest, if you aren't adventurous, you can take a gondolia. The resort set us up with a taxi for the tour. The guys went deep sea fishing and really loved it. Make sure you get all the information you need on the tours, the tour staff wasn't that informative. Vanessa the bartender was especially friendly. I had a massage on the beach, what can I say about that? The best, Rosalyn was the massage therapist. I love St Lucia and the Almond Morgan Bay Resort, I will be going back there, I don't know when, but I will, it was the best vacation ever. Before you go, if you have any questions, talk with Lerry, he is one of the assistant managers and he was very, very helpful.

We have been back four days and am already missing our great holiday. We booked our week on a special deal and was a bit worried after reading some mixed reviews. We needn't of worried at all. When we arrived we were greeted with an ice cold flannel and a rum punch which was most welcome after the mini bus trip which was long but worth the journey. We had a sea view room which was well worth the extra money, we woke up to the sound of the waves and breeze in the palm trees, lovely.
There were four restaurants, The Palms which was lovely, the food is OK nothing fantastic but staff were very friendly and you did not have to wait for anything. The only complaint would be the birds flying about while you are eating especially at breakfast.
The Bambou was mostly buffet lunch or barbecue, the choices were good with lots of fresh salad. Morgans Pier was mostly fish but we did eat there one night and it was very nice. Le Jardin was adults only so we could not go there with our seven year old daughter.
The hotel itself could do with a spruce up. Some of the areas could be greatly improved but the gardens were beautifully kept and every morning the beach was cleaned and raked. The bay was a bit murky for a few days of our trip but did clear up later in the week.
The watersports were excellent, all the tutition from the guys in the hut was brilliant and my husband learnt to waterski and sail.
Joys boat trip was a must and well worth it and a great way to see the beatiful island of St Lucia.
We would definately recommend this hotel to anyone. And just a little tip, try the BBC cocktails, baileys, banana & coconut YUMMY !!!!

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Almond Morgan Bay resort.
It was amazing. if you are reading this because you are going, don't worry. It is an amazing place.
The locals are wonderful, we stayed in the 'old block' no problems, clean, large rooms, cleaned daily, wonderful.
The locals are as polite and as friendly as you are to them, if you are rude, they will be back. A bit like we would be! We noticed that certain nations (you'll know who i mean when you get there) aren't as polite as we are and we spoke to the locals and they respond to that. If you ask rather than demand, say please and thank you, and smile, you'll get anything.
We have stayed at numerous Sandals resorts and this was just as good. We even took a taxi to the Sandals resort next door, and Morgan Bay seems far better. Any cocktail you care to name, its no problem. The only problems are peoples attitudes.
The beach was amazing, clean, ok, the sand wasnt golden, but you are on a volcanic island. The sea, although not crystal clear, is warm and safe. Not a ripple at all.
The watersports guys couldn't do enough for us. Although i'm sure i was the fortnightly entertainment! Big white bum, couldn't waterski or windsurf!
The food is all al la carte and cooked to high standards. The bars are fully stocked and the entertainment was really proffesional. Ok, it was a bit repetative, but they really tried their hardest to do well, and they acheived it.
The adult pools and restaurants kept to their standards, and the dress code was adhered to. There were people who had been moved from Smugglers Cove to Morgan bay and said how much nicer it was.
The only critisism is, we had to come home!
The reps are there every other day, the excursions are amazing, we went on the 'conveniently late tour'. Wow!
Beautiful island, lovely people.
If you want to go out, go to the big chef steak house in Rodney bay. It's a bit pricey, but the best steak you will ever have.
Staff wise, look for Remy, the late night bar supervisor, Manuel, Jermain and Marta, bar staff that can't do enough for you. And are happy at what they do. Jermain the entertainment guy and karim and Jayson the watersports guys.We weren't approached for a tip at any time we were there, they only seem to want to have you mention them in the questionaire you have to fill in whilst you are there.
The receptionists can't be any more friendly, and there are no huge creepy crawleys, apart from the odd mosquito (so take bug spray).
The sun is really intense, plaster on the lotion, and even when it rains, it only lasts for 10 minutes or so.
You won't be disapointed, we were expecting a lot, from reading trip advisor reviews, but don't worry. It was everything we hoped for, and more.
If you can say please and thankyou, and you realise you are on Caribbean time. You'll enjoy it.
Just a little tip, if you go to the Plum tree bar and grill, and ask for a pizza, they'll make one for you. Its not advertised, but part of the menu.
Ignore the people who had a bad time, they are the people we laughed at because the locals had said they were rude.
Just relax, enjoy the caribbean and you'll have a great time.
(if you need a good taxi driver who won't rip you off, ask for Augustin)
So go on, enjoy St Lucia, and as a person who's been to 9 caribbean islands, this is the best. Green, friendly and unforgettable.
You can drink their water, so don't worry, and if you need a cocktail to get you started, ask for a coco express!
Have fun!
You won't be disapointed.

We just got back from a one week stay at Almond Morgan Bay and it was brilliant!!
Okay so it could do with a little updating but the overall service was perfect.
The staff were all very friendly at helpful especially the watersports guys.
If you love watersports this is the place to go - sailing, watersking, banana boats etc all included in the price as well as the lessons - what more could you ask for?
The resturants were lovely - it was nice to have a choice of four - all worth a try.
I must say...the resort was probably only about 40% full so not all the resturants were open at the same time. Le Jardin was my personal best.
If you want a nice relaxing holiday - this is the place to go!!
The rooms were lovely and we even got given a bottle of champayne on my birthday which was lovely!!!!
Top tips.....Book your boat trip with Joy down at the beach! Catch the 1A bus to Casteries and a taxie to Rodey Bay on Friday evenings about 9 as they have a big street party!
If you would like to know more...please feel free to contact me!

We stayed at the amb from the 12th june for 10 nights. We had read the reviews before we went and were quite open minded about it. We were given an ocean front room (block 5) which was ok, nothing special apart from the view. It was looking a little tired and could do with a makeover. Halfway through we upgraded our room to a one bedroom suite ($60 per night) which was fantastic!!!! They are fairly new and are much more spacious and have magnificient views across the island. Our suite (no. 1216) was on the ground floor and is very close to the small private pool and bar which was very handy. The corner bath was huge and was nice to relax in after a hard day by the pool. This certainly made our holiday!! We recommended this upgrade to some friends who also upgraded their room for their last few days.

Did not like the fact that you have to book the restaurant every evening and not all of them open. Morgans pier (fish) restaurant was certainly the best with great views overlooking the bay. If you want steak then you have to pay $25.00 for it but it is worth it.

Evening entertainment is ok but nothing special, most of the staff are friendly and helpfull although the pool bar staff are very slow.

Overall we had a really nice time and totally worth upgrading your room to a suite but get a price direct from the hotel as will be cheaper to upgrade and this certainly made our holiday better!! Would definately go back to st lucia and stay in a suite at the almond mogan bay.
