“Good for a weekend getaway!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

I stayed with my 11yr old daughter at St James Morgan Baby Oct 12-14th. Room 404, bottom floor. the hotel is a low key hotel, the grounds were kept clean. The staff was warm and friendly. The food was good. Not too picky but although there was variety it was bland. I often stay away from pools at hotels but enjoyed myself at this resort. The drinks were good! Try the Melon Colada yum! If you want to know the days activities you'll have to attend an orientation each morning around 8am. The beach was good however it is no clear blue water...There is a kids pool with slides right by the Plum tree Grill.Free wifi in the lobby. If you are looking for a place to reset away from it all. this is it. ( we even got a bottle of room, fruit platter in our room at check-in).

Room Tip: There is a Fish Fry every Friday nearby. Bottle water is sold at the reception desk. No ATM. If you...

We stayed at St. James Club Morgan Bay from 9/17 to 9/24. It was a beautiful hotel in a great location. The staff was very friendly. We asked for honeymoon accommodations if complimentary and when we arrived we had a bottle of champagne flowers spread all over the room and swans made from towels. The restaurants had good food and good service. The only one we tried to avoid was Bamboo, the staff there was not very friendly or accommodating. I would recommend going to the Palms any day for breakfast lunch or dinner. The tours staff was wonderful, but a suggestion would be to only deal with them when scheduling anything. We had an issue with that which was fixed immediately by the tours staff. The housekeeping staff was wonderful and the rooms were cleaned everyday. The rooms were the perfect size, especially since we spent most of the day out of the room. The bars and staff were wonderful and a lot of fun. They have entertainment every night by the pool, which was also a lot of fun.

It is a nice hotel with a good pool and bar area. I also found the food good for an all inclusive with lots of restaraunts and lots of choice.
Buffet breakfast was great, lunch was good- some days better than others and for dinner we mostly ate in the a la carte restaraunts. The best was a new Chinese night that they had recently started and i hope they carries this on as it was lovely. Also enjoyed the one you had to pay for. I had a fillet steak which was one of the best I have ever had and worth the additional charge!
Rooms were quite average. They were clean but just seemed a bit dated.
Also didnt think much of the beach- it was not what i expected of a carribean beach- though of course this is not the fault of the hotel!
Staff were very good and very friendly. Expect one woman who took our food order than went on her lunch break without giving it into the kitchen- we ended up waiting over an hour for our lunch.
Overall it was a nice holiday and I would probably return for the right price.

we stayed at the st james from 30th September - 13th October. a wonderful time was had mainly due to the staff who do everything they can to assist you - always smiling . the resort is spotlessly clean. rooms are spacious with everything you need to relax including tea/coffee facilities, flat screen tv, iron and board, hairdryer, nice balcony, full bath and shower and lovely big comfy beds. the resort is set in beautiful gardens , some small hills but nothing major unless you are in the hilltop rooms which we were not. Pools are clean - two central just behind the beach and two lovely quiet hidden pools - one at tommys rum bar on the hill and one behind the tennis courts - the palmtree. beach is kept very clean and we never had a problem getting sunbeds - brollies a little short but several large shady trees which were very pleasant to sit under. Water sports on the beach are all free except the jet skis which visit in the afternoon, free water sports includehobiecats, kayaks, paddle boards, pedalos, waterskiing and include waterskiing and sailing lessons, swimming area is roped off from watersports for safety and sea is calm and sandy underfoot - no decent snorkelling - you need to go on trips for that. Restaurants varied include the Palms buffet restaurant which has the food laid out in a separate area so has more ambience than the normal all inclusive buffet - food was good - something to suit everyone but could have done with more variety of meats freshly cooked on the grill, lunchtimes the Palmtree makes a pleasant change from the buffett - everything here is freshly cooked. afternoon tea with sandwiches and cakes is served in the Bamboo on the beach - this also opens in the evening as an a la carte. Morgans pier is the most popular and we ate here several times - you can get lobster or rib eyes here but you have to pay extra. La Jardin is the a la carte where there is an extra charge to eat there - we did,nt bother as reports we had from other tourists were not that impressive. The views around the resort are stunning particularly from tommys rum bar. Ample suppy of fluffy towels in the rooms and you can change your beach towels as often as you like. This resort is ideally located with the local bus stop right outside the resort and a couple of stops to Rodney bay where you will find a modern air conditioned shopping mall, kfc etc. thecasino is also located here and worth a visit - we won. also in Rodney bay are bars and clubs - all well manned by security - we were perfectly safe. The local bus outsidethe hotel will also take you to Castries - the capital for the markets.Friday nights as Gros Islet is a street party with local food and music - well worth a visit but dress down and don,t wear expensive jewellery. The highlight of our trip was the Joy Cruise we went on with JJ from the beach - mineral springs, mud baths, snorkelling, lovely barbeque on private beach and good fun all day long - don,t miss this - you will find JJ with the watersports boys to the left hand side of the beach just by morgans pier restaurant - you can look him up on joytours@live.com - they will really look after you. For snorkelers and divers the best sites are between the pitons at anise de chasenet and you can book from the hotel. We flew with virgin who were very good - they do a check out and chill at your hotel for a small fee so all you have to do is walk straight through to customs on arrival at the airport. We booked through the holiday place who were cheaper for the same holiday than virgin holidays even though it was virgin flights and we had a private taxi transfer included. Hotel provides courtesy room for the day of departure so you can shower and change before leaving . In all a good value for money all inclusive, ideally located with excellent staff. A couple of things could do with improvement - no rose house wine - only red and white. No cappuchinos available at the resort. Entertainment is pretty much as you get at these resorts - couple of shows, limbo. fireeating etc., live music most evenings - good steel band, excellent band playing bob marley and ub40 who we could have listened to every night but most nights an awful Cuban girl singer who does,nt sing in English - bar was nearly empty on nights she was on. Our thanks go to the watersports staff who are so helpful and such good fun on the beach and to the receptionists in the palms restaurant who greeted us with a smile and a joke every time we went there.

I stayed at St James Morgan Bay on St. Lucia from 15th sept to 29th sept. The resort is safe beach is clean although sea is a bit murky but nothing you can do about nature. The staff were excellent everyone had a smile and a good morning, good afternoon for you. Ate mainly in the buffet and used the grill a few times which was always excellent. The rooms were clean i got up graded to a deluxe suite because of an electrical problem in my room. The staff were quick to identify the problem and get me moved to another room within an hour. The evening entertainment let the hotel down that is the only area for imrpovement.
Went on Joys cruises had an excellent day Vaughan the guide was hilarious from the moment we got on the speed boat to the moment we got off. went to the mud baths, the waterfalls, beach barbeque all freshly prepared by Joys daughter, snorkelling inbetween the pitons. A purely magical day, Joys beach staff selling the cruise are really nice guys as well go have a chat with them. You will find them on the beach near the water sports cabin. Next time im there I will be back to book again.
There are four pools and the adult only pool has the most amazing views and the bar staff mix fantastic cocktails what ever you want.
Wether your single, a couple or a family St. James Morgan Bay is the place to go.
I will be back St Lucia is a beautiful island, stunning beaches, vibrant markets and friendly people.

We stayed at St James Morgan Pier from 1st Oct - 12th Oct and had a great time. We were in room 222 and the location was just right - not too close to the bar at a night but not too far to walk. All the staff were wonderful especially Kennith on the main bar who was so much fun at night time, she was a real joy! The guys on the activities worked tirelessly - thanks Jermaine and Oswald (although I am nursing an injury from over enthusiasm at pool volleyball) and the watersports tean were great as well.

The hotel was nice, not as good as the St James in Antigua but as this property is a fairly new aquisition for Elite Island Resorts I expect there will be some changes. The beach was nice and the restaurants were good. If I had any complaints it would be that the menus only changed once in the Pier and Bambou once while we were there. The Plum Tree was lovely for lunch with nice views across the resort.

The entertainment was mixed with some great groups, especially the ones who played on a Friday evening. There seemed to be two lots of entertainment most evenings with some entertainment being 5 - 7pm and more on 9-11pm. There was a great local singer on one evening who had a wonderful voice but she was on the 5 - 7 pm slot which was such a shame as a lot of people were getting ready for dinner. On the downside 4 nights during our stay we saw 2 Cuban "singers" who inexplicably were on the 7 - 9 pm slot - message to the Management THEY CANNOT SING and would be better suited poledancing in a bar!!!! The saxaphone player on the Sunday was pure magic.

We had a great holiday and this resort has a certain charm. It just needs some tweeking and the staff are their biggest asset, they were all great!!

We went to St Lucia in September and had a wonderful stay at St James. The resort is beautiful. The food was good in all restaurants, our favorite was Morgans Pier. It had great food and a beautiful view. The pools were very nice. Drinks were good. Beach was good. We had a room in building 12 on top of the hill. Had a beautiful view of the sunset every night and a peaceful view of the beach and resort in the mornings while drinking our coffee on the verandah. The only tour we did was with Joys boat tour on the beach. It was a great tour.
