“Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

We stayed here for 11 nights at the end of February/beginning of March 2014. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and given a rum punch. We had a room at the back of the hotel, facing a garden. I would choose this again as it could be noisy at the front facing the pool.

OK its not on the beach but it is 5 minutes by the short route or 15 along the road to get to the sea. Well worth the walk.

Although we were all inclusive we spent most days on the beach. We hired 2 chairs and an umbrella for 15 US dollars a day. We didn't think that too bad. We also walked to Maria's Fish Shack most days for a beer around lunch time. Well worth a visit. We even ate there one lunchtime.

Back to the hotel. I have never stayed anywhere where the staff were as friendly and helpful. You really did feel they were wanting you personally be be there and in fact a number of people that we met had stayed there before.

The rooms are more than adequate, the pool area is lovely and the food was good, though slightly repetitive. The menu didn't change much over the time we were there.

Overall I would say excellent value for money and I would recommend it to anyone.

Thank you for your glowing review following your stay at Coco Palm. We will certainly share your kind sentiments to our Team whom we take great pride in being your host. We do have a growing number of returning guests simply because of them and we are glad you were made to feel welcome.

The beach is certainly one of our best on island and glad to hear you were accommodated in arranging for a chaise and umbrella which works out quite reasonably for those looking to enjoy the facilities without paying beachfront prices. We will certainly note your comments to our Chef who will be launching a special of the day for those on longer stays who may find the menu repetitive.

Warm regards,
Coco Management

stayed at the coco palm resort and was greeted by a fantastic staff and great food. we loved its close proximity to the shopping centres (Baywalk and Rodney Bay mall). The food was exceptionally well prepared and complimented the creole theme of the resort. We would defintelty recommend others to visit.

Room Tip: the pool view room with balcony is an absolute dream!

My wife and I spent 10 days at the resort in February. We bought an all inclusive package with BA which when you strip out the air fare from UK works out at £180 a day. If we had gone independent and booked on the Coco Palm website it would have cost £210 for B&B! The resort is relatively new to all inclusive and the restaurant has a set menu for lunch with some different options for dinner but there is little or no variation to the menus and you soon get tired of the same old. A few specials each day is all that is wanted. There is a new Creole themed restaurant food with interesting local dishes downstairs but again menus do not change day to day, and service is more enthusiastic than proficient. We chose the all inclusive after previously doing so in 2013 in Jamaica where there were safety issues that meant we were cautious about going out to eat. There are no safety issues in Rodney Bay where there is little sign of poverty and the place is well ordered although drugs seem to be openly available and not just spliffs. Good size room, well specified, I will not repeat what has been said by others. There was no welcome pack or information book about the resort, which was a nuisance from time to time, as the Coco Palm website and the BA Website did not have details. Wifi was excellent and available across the resort. There are plenty of eateries within a short walk - we liked Buzz, which is one of the smarter ones. The beach is 10 minutes stroll and is just great - Wednesdays are busy as it's cruise ships day. Excursions are quite expensive - the Volcano tour was worth doing, but Martinique was a disappointment and be aware that the 90 minute boat ride is very, very wild. For a pleasant day take a water taxi from the beach to Pigeon Island $30 US return; you get a feel of what the place might have been like in the 18th century, there is a lovely small beach and a pub in an ancient fort like building. The island is managed by the National Trust and you have to pay an entry fee. The resort is used as a conference centre for the Leeward Islands and there seemed to be two or three events every day with delegates in and out of the restaurant and bar, which gave the place a more civilised air than the place we stayed in Jamaica which was a little too dominated by very drunk Canadians.

Thank you for your very detailed review of your stay at Coco Palm. We are happy to hear you enjoyed it overall. We have met with our Chef regarding the menu and he will introduce a special of the day to add more variety for those on longer stays.

We are happy you got a good price for your holiday but like shopping for anything else, prices can vary. Airfare to Saint Lucia does fluctuate depending on time of year, availability and offers all coming in to the mix so we encourage future guests to look at all your options.

The Caribbean does have its own charm with service not what it may be like in bigger cities but their warmth did appear to be appreciated. The island life and street vendors are not under our control which we are happy to hear you took in your stride. The tours and excursions are easily available and am sure your review will be helpful to those doing their research on the 'soft adventure' some may experience.

We are happy to hear you enjoyed the diversity of the property as we do have a few meetings and conferences during the week which do include lunch which may annoy some but does give you a taste of business life in the Caribbean with menus catering to the Caribbean traveller and a buffet on offer to all guests.

Am sorry you didn't find information forthcoming online or in your room but should any guests need any info please feel free to talk to any of our Team.

Sincerely,
Coco Team

My husband and I stayed at Coco Palm for 2 weeks in February this year on a bed and breakfast basis. Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely staff and a rum cocktail. Our room had a pool view, and our bed could have fitted 4 people in it! After our first day of getting ourselves settled, we decided to book some trips. From our first meeting with them, both Peppy and Alexandra were absolutely brilliant. They were so helpful and informative, and made it very easy for us to make decisions of where to go. We did the Segway tour (which I cannot recommed enough), made chocolate at Hotel Chocolat, went dolphin watching, visited the mud bath, and travelled by speed boat to a restaurant called The Rainforest hideaway.

Each morning we would have yummy breakfasts where they was a huge choice of just about everything. The staff were always very warm and welcoming. We paricularly loved our chats with the wonderful Patricia who made us laugh everyday and we still miss her!

Thanks to all the staff at coco palm for looking after us, especially Claudine, Peppy, Alexandra, Patricia and Sean.

Room Tip: We had room 314. There wasnt a balcony for us to sit out on but the view was great.

Husband and I just returned from a one week stay here and we were so happy with the exceptional value, comfort and outstanding service we received at this resort. We knew it was not a five star resort, however the staff here could teach many 5 star resorts out there a thing or two about customer service. EVERY single staff member that we came into contact with at Coco Palm truly wanted to ensure our stay was everything we wanted and more. Always smiling, always quick to respond, and so helpful and courteous. Peppy and Alexandra, the hotel concierge were outstanding and especially helpful responding to all of our needs. The resort was clean, colorful and comfortable. The pool was awesome and we loved that they had lots of chairs so you didnt have to play the "towel on the chair game". The breakfast was delicious and offered lots of choices. The ladies even remembered our favorite place to sit each time. We enjoyed supper at the resort which was also wonderful. Location is excellent, right next to the casino, mall, tons of restaurants and minutes from the most beautiful beach. Loved it so much that we can hardly wait to return!!! Definitely a great choice for the discerning traveler.

Room Tip: The pool view is quite a bit nicer than the garden view rooms. Not sure I would pay extra for the s...

What a wonderful stay we had here at Coco Palm. We are a young couple; what you might call 'financially challenged' and were lucky enough to get cheap last minute flights to St. Lucia. But where to stay?! Its almost impossible to find somewhere that is affordable, has a lovely pool, fantastic location and friendly staff.... and then up stepped Coco Palm! We stayed in the Kreole Rooms, which, honestly, are fine for the price. You're in St. Lucia for goodness' sake - who cares what the room is like!! We didn't have a balcony, but we had lots of space, it was safe and secure and we had a mini fridge and coffee maker - what more do you need? We did have some problems at first with a capricious shower, but that was repaired fairly quickly. The pool is as lovely as the other reviewers say, and the beach is a nice 5-10 minute walk away. There are some fabulous dining options nearby (I wouldn't bother with all-inclusive) and the staff can't do enough to assist you. We loved Coco Palm and we can't wait to return.

this had been my fifth experience of a Virgin holiday fully inclusive break. This was not up to what I had come to expect at all. Those of us who were fully inclusive were given a separate menu, which was very limited and did not change the entire stay apart from weekly buffet and occasional option to use adjacent restaurant. The drinks menu had more exclusions unless you wanted to pay extra and everything had to be signed for - even a cup of coffee.
The staff are the saving grace, but are overstretched as this hotel also had a business and meeting rooms attached and if they are being used, staff are stretched even further.
We were on the quiet side of the hotel, but other guests asked to be moved as pool side faced very loud clubs.

Room Tip: ask for a room that is not pool facing.

We are sorry to hear you had a disappointing trip to Coco Palm in January. There are indeed two menus: one for All Inclusive with no prices and one for A-la- carte with prices and the only variation being the dishes which are a supplements. By all means guests can ask to see both should you wish to pay supplement as per the welcome letter and briefing the tour operators should have advised of what is a supplement charge.

We do have the occasional business meetings and groups who have lunch included and for larger groups we do have a buffet which is open to our AI guests in addition to their menus. Am sorry if you were offended but we are not exclusively a tourist only hotel and do have a mix which you may find at many hotels. We do try to seat you in different sections of the restaurant which tend to be more Monday - Friday but can't predict when these groups are in house. If you are offended in seeing such groups at the hotel your tour rep or front office would be happy to help relocate you to a hotel of your choice. Note to future guests, any such issues please speak to our Management or your local representative.

In regard to signage, every cheque regardless of all inclusive or pay as you go must be signed. This is a standard operating procedure implemented by accounts and can be found at most hotels. If we issued bracelets or were 100% all inclusive it may not be necessary. Note to future All Inclusive guest, this should be advised in the welcome letter and by your operator.

Being located in the Rodney Bay Village there is entertainment on select nights at the hotel until 11:00 for the latest but the village may have additional entertainment particularly on weekends which is beyond our control. Should you wish for early nights or be a light sleeper, indeed the garden view rooms would be best suited. If you are not in this and you are on property, do ask Front Office if you can change if you are not happy. We would not wish for you to endure sleepless nights.

Wishing you a better trip next time.
Sincerely,
Coco Management and Team
