“What a gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

This was our first time to St Lucia, and it won't be our last.

We booked this hotel on a room only basis through an online company and flew with Virgin. We had a very good deal and stayed for 3 weeks in one of the Kreole rooms. On arrival the room was slightly disappointing, looking in need of updating. However, we soon realised that it was typical of other hotel rooms that we had stayed in at other Caribbean resorts. The room was spotlessly clean and kept that way by the houekeeping staff throughout our stay. Very large and very comfortable beds. After a few days we were upgraded to bed and breakfast at no extra cost. I've never known any other hotel to offer an upgrade without charge. This is no ordinary hotel. The staff are very caring and do their utmost to make your stay as best it can be. Nothing is too much troublle.

The hotel is an ideal size, making it quiet enough for a relaxing holiday. The pool area is lovely, and was never crowded. In fact some times we wondered where all the guests were. Only a 5 minute walk from the beach, and next to a shopping mall the Coco Palm is in an ideal position. It is perfectly safe to venture outside the hotel and the local people are very friendly and acknowledge visitors with a cheery greeting. In other Caribbean resorts it is not advisable to leave the hotel complex.

There are many and varied restaurants in the vicinity, so plenty of choice with various cuisines. There are supermarkets and most types of shops in the neighbouring mall. Expect to pay more than UK prices for almost everything even in the duty free shops, and especially in the restaurants. VAT is added to restaurant bills at 8% with a further 10% service charge in most cases. Check the menu. Most state the additional taxes at the bottom. Having said all that some restaurants and bars have a happy hour. There are the usuall KFC, Burger King, Subway and the like for cheaper options. Dominos Pizza opposite the hotel is expensive.

The delightful Head Concierge, Peppy arranged a hire car for us to explore the island. She drafted a list of must see places and was extremely helpful. Thank you Peppy so much. We thoroughly enjoyed the view of the Pitons from Ladera Resort and the walk to Tet Paul. These were highlights of the holiday.

Driving in St Lucia is an experience. Some of the roads are narrow, have hairpin bends not to mention the potholes, but to anyone from the UK this shouldn't be a problem as they drive on the left. Take your time, enjoy the marvellous scenary which is constantly changing. You are on holiday.

Thanks to CJ and Emma for introducing us to Twenty Twenty cricket. What a wonderful evening experiencing the vibrant atmosphere of the cricket ground. A pity that the local team did not fare so well.

Overall a wonderful three weeks. Lots of new friends and lovely hotel staff. Cannot wait until our next visit.

Thank you all.

“Wonderful friendly laid-back hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

We have just finished a great week at Coco Palm. Such a wonderful place!
The positives: The staff from the front desk to the restaurant to the pool staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
The laid-back music, just loud enough to relax, not too loud to disturb
The location: 3 minutes walk from
Reduit beach, 30 restaurants, supermarket. But it feels like miles away when sitting at Coco Palm pool.
The negatives: Can't think of any, unless you are looking for a huge resort with endless activities, hustle and bustle.
We can't recommend Coco Palm highly enough. It really is an oasis of calm, relaxation, due most especially to its wonderful staff.

“Fantastic boutique hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

Just returned home after staying at the Coco Palm for two weeks. We stayed in a garden view room at the back of the hotel - nice and quiet. All the staff are friendly and helpful - Simone kept our room spotless and put fresh flowers on our bed every night. Big thanks to Peppy who helped us to plan our trips and helped to make our holiday extra-special. (Love you Peppy)

We we're there on a bed and breakfast basis which we would recommend as there are so many fantastic restaurants just a few minutes walk away. Our favourite was Chef Xavier (don't be put you off by the fact that it is located in the Mall) the food here is sublime. We also ate at Buzz, The Edge, The Spice of India (best Indian food ever), Delirious and Tapas on the Bay and we would recommend them all. We also took a taxi to Casteries to have dinner at the much recommended Coalpot which was also excellent but the $50 US taxi fare made it quite expensive.

We would recommend the Friday night "Jump up" at Gros Islet for the experience, Pigeon Island for the history and the beach and the Dasheene restaurant at the Ladera resort for the views of the Pitons.

“Excellent - employees are amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

This was one of our most fantastic holidays and we are sad to be leaving. St Lucia is a fabulous place and the people are incredible. We stayed at Coco Palm through virgin holidays. It was a great choice; the restaurant was great, I had an amazing pedicure - one of the best ever through the spa beautician monique - be sure to visit her; the woman has magical hands and is sassy fun company. We went horse riding in cotton bay which was fantastic (my husband has only been once before and is 6ft 2 not really into it but also had a great memorable time - swimming horses!), we did the carnival sunset cruise. Word of warning - be careful with the rum punch on the cruise. Everyone ended up very drunk without realising until you hit land. This leads me to my next point I ended up on a trip to hospital for bumping my head, the employees athe hotel were fabulous, helping out at the time and caring for us after. They are sincere and very helpful. We never return to places we visit but are very tempted to come back to Coco Palm. It is independent and St Lucian owned and managed. It is very clean and well located. It is also safe and right by the beautiful reduit beach. An all round winner. Thank you coco palm and all of your colleagues who work here.

Room Tip: We stayed in the back away from the pool

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

We have just returned from 10 fantastic days at Coco Palm. we wish we could have stayed longer. The rooms are large and kept spotlessly clean, we had a pool view suite which had a huge freestanding bath - fab! The staff are friendly, efficient and nothing is too much trouble. Try Dwight's mango daiquiri - delicious. The hotel is 5 minutes from the beautiful beach and there are plenty of good quality bars and restaurants well worth trying - the steakhouse is great for food and service. We will definitely return to Coco Palm.

Room Tip: Pool view suites are huge with a freestanding bath tub.
