“It is a lovely mid budget hotel.”

Coco Palm Resort

It is a lovely mid budget hotel. The service is superb, everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful as is the nature of almost all St Lucians. In the Capital city we randomly bumped into a staff member for whom it was his day off, he still spent some time chatting with us and being friendly. The hotel still looks very new and it is perfectly maintained.

Patricia in the restaurant makes what would otherwise be an ordinary restaurant, a really pleasurable and personal experience. Sandy on the reservations made us feel really looked after, Wendy organises trips very diligently and perfectly, and Shaun is an incredibly masseur whose massages are really something quite special.

St Lucia is very safe and a very friendly island, we were very happy to take public transport into the capital and walk around freely.

The hotel is well planned, clean with good facilities including Wifi. It is also a much smaller hotel than the Sandals chain hotels which for us makes it much more personal and preferable. The beach is a ten minute walk and as the hotel is not on the beach it is $20US for a sun lounger and umbrella, however the beach is lovely.

Just a little tip, the jet ski operators with the red shirts are lovely, but do not get involved with the ones with the green shirts who are quite unpleasant in the way they compete for your custom.

Please do not let the following small little points put you off, they have to be mentioned but should not put you off what is a lovely hotel and probably our favourite Caribbean island. This is a budget hotel and one should treat is as such, the room service food steaks are not gristle free and the sauces are not freshly made. However the meals are priced accordingly and the local restaurants are very good and superbly run.

In the rooms there is not any hair conditioner, or dishes to hold the soap supplied by the sink. The streets in the area have open drains and so on. It is the Caribbean and so of course one must not have expectations of things being as detail perfect as lets say New York would be.

The hotel is mainly occupied by couples and families, there are other hotels on the island more geared to single people. For us as a quiet young honeymoon couple on a medium budget, it was the perfect choice with the right mix of being in a nice part of the island with lovely restaurants, facilities and yet presently not too built up.

A definite recommendation and thank you so much to everyone at the hotel for giving us a perfect holiday that we loved !!!!!

“Fantastic hotel !!”

Coco Palm Resort

What a great hotel! I was a single girl who needed somewhere to relax and chill for 2 weeks. And I did just that! Staff were wonderful and made me feel very welcome. Always checking that I was ok as I was on my own. Just a bit surprised that the other people staying at the hotel were not very socialable - perhaps as I was on my own they may have thought I wanted to latch onto them. But I met some wonderful local people who showed me true St Lucian life and hospitality, which made up for the lack of conversation at the hotel!

Had a garden view room which was very pleasent and comfortable. Had a small problem with the room safe not working properly, but that was fixed within an hour of reporting it.

Hotel and pool area were very clean. Restaurant served wonderful food! My meal plan was half board but I didn't find out until I sat down for dinner that there was limit to what I could spend on my evening meal (US dollars). The tour company I booked my holiday with never told me this, nor was I told on checking into the hotel. I spoke to the restaurant manager who passed it onto the hotel manager and they kindly credited my room, so I could order a few of the more expensive meals on the menu. They even changed the layout of the menu for those people on meal plans! What great service!

The tour company also advertised on their website that the non motorised water sports, sun bed and umbrella were included in the package I booked, but on arrival at the hotel this was not the case (was $20 US dollars a day). Because of this mix up, the hotel manager organised a complimentary day trip for me.

I made use of the hotel spa. Had two treatments which were fantastic and not too expensive! Staff were very professional.

Overall I had a wonderful time here in the hotel and the staff went out of their way to look after me. Besides the few misunderstandings I experienced, I would definetely recommend this hotel and return again. Its a great place to relax!

“A Very Personal Experience”

I have been to many hotels around the world and what normally stands out for me is the level of personal service one receives. The Ritz Carlton South Beach comes to mind for a large property which still makes you feel as an individual and special. Now Coco Palm is no way on the scale of the Ritz Carlton in terms of size and overall luxury. However, the property compensates with a charm that is tough to beat. Your hosts (Guest Service Representatives) make you their number one priority. The smiles are ever present and the willingness to help is unsurpassed. I have never before received a call from a hotel host just to ask about my well being and to further volunteer additional assistance should it be required.

Of course, no hotel is perfect. I found the food at the restaurant to be average and in some cases a bit pretentious. Sometimes simple is better. The suite was lovely overall with two (2) bathrooms and one with a claw foot tub but there was no flat panel TV as is becoming the standard for a room in that category.

I must give a special mention to Charma, Kervin, Cyril and Marvin who all treated us like honoured guests and friends.

Coco Palm Resort is an above average vacation getaway principally because of its staff.

“Great Hotel, Great Location...”

Coco Palm Resort

Just returned froma brilliant holiday. I'd agree with most posters that there are a few niggles but on the whole this is a great hotel.

On arrival check in could not be quicker or easier. Someone from reception personally shows you to your room and answers any questions you may have. The room was large and comfy. There is a fridge, a tv, a safe, a great bathroom and some "sent from god " air-con.

I had a garden view room which i'm guessing is the basic room at the hotel but i was very impressed. My girfriend is semi-ocd but declared the room spotless and sparkly!

The staff were the most friendly staff i've ever come across and couldn't do enough for you. It did however take 3 attempts to get someone to open the safe but again thats only a niggle.

The food was excellent, although the service sometimes seemed to take forever. We waited over 30 mins for food several times when there were only a couple of us in the restaurant. Again slight niggle, I don't buy the "it's the carribean vibe get used to it " excuse either. I was waiting for a chicken sandwich!

Some brilliant restaurants nearby. Charthouse, The Edge, KuDeThai were some i ate in and were fantastic. Go to the Rainforest Hideaway in Marigot Bay. Out of this World. There is a great ice cream shop next to Charthouse which is simply the best ice cream i've ever had...Dangerous!

The beach was just down the snicket/dirt track out of the hotels main entrance. This is the locals entrance to the beach . So unless you're a complete freak who's scared of "locals" wherever you go on holiday then use it. Sooo much quicker than going through the Rex resort.

The building work thats been talked about is minimal. Spent 6 days at the pool side. Heard it twice for about 15 mins each time.

Use Hugo Tours for any trips, Scuba Steves for diving and have the BBQ on a sunday at the hotel. Going back A.S.A.P!

We stayed here between the 19th February and the 26th February, we had a wonderful time, was a bit uncertain before we went as on one review they had mentioned rats running about, well we saw none and yes there is building work going on next door but we spoke to the General manager and the buliders and himself are working to keep the noise to a minimum, which to us seem to work as it was not constant day in and day out.. The staff are very friendly and willing to help, the only thing was we had booked half board and when we got there, there was no record of it, so spoke to rep following day and the hotel no longer offer this service, it room only or AI, but she sorted things out. The rooms are very clean and well looked after, we had a swim up room which was lovely even though the water in the pool was quite cold. In agood location for different places to eat, although we tended to eat in the hotel, limited menu but good enough for us if you are not big eaters. The beach yes is down a little dirt track nothing to feel afaid of during the day although I would think twice at night time, there is plenty of other places to get to the beach through Rex resorts or right at the end of the road through Spinnakers, up there is propably the best part of the beach anyway. Would differently go back as its so laid back and friendly.
