“A new level of Caribbean hospitality & service! Loving everything about Coco Palm!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

We stayed at Coco Palm for my husband’s birthday weekend celebration! All I can say is ‘WOW!’

From the reservation process to making birthday arrangement with Diana, our Host; to the attention given during our stay, the level of service provided was simply outstanding!

Coco Palm certainly redefines Caribbean hospitality service standards! The person who does their customer service training has done a fabulous job indeed!

Our room was beautifully decorated with flowers on the bed spelling out ‘’Happy Birthday’’ along with a greeting sign and balloons. We also received a complimentary bottle of bubbly with a card signed by the staff!

I had pre-ordered a birthday cake from their kitchen and it was delivered on the day & time I had requested it and it was simply scrumptious! Denver, who brought the cake to our room even sang the birthday song –a very nice touch!

What we love about Coco Palm: Everything!!

The rooms are very relaxing, tastefully decorated with comfy beds. The garden view rooms offer abit more privacy and peace than the pool-view rooms.

The pool is great for families as it has a wide step-down area for sitting/floating. It's fun with the different sections and only 4ft deep throughout. It was always impeccably clean including the surrounding grounds and gardens.

The bar staff are excellent at remembering your drink-of-choice and happily change the sports channels to your preference (which my husband loved as he could watch cricket on one screen while catching up on the football on the other!).

The quality of food in the restaurant is really fine and the servers’ service and smiles were delightful. We enjoyed the freshly prepared daily juices – from passion fruit to grapefruit. The daily breakfast buffet is quite generous in offering with local options in addition to the usual international fare.

I highly recommend the Sunday buffet lunch (or ordering from the menu) which is accompanied by the sweet sounds of Steel pan! The group played Happy Birthday to my husband during lunch which was an unexpected and thoughtful request by the staff.

Thanks to everyone at Coco Palm…especially Diana, Denver and Claudine who made our weekend stay so memorable and enjoyable!

You’re our new favourite hotel in Castries, St. Lucia!

Room Tip: Garden view rooms are outfitted the same as Pool view rooms and are not only more affordable, but mo...

My husband and I had just married and wanted a beautiful but affordable weekend getaway for our Honeymoon. We chose Coco Palm because of their great price and being locals, we got an even better deal. I called in advance to arrange our romantic weekend and from the get-go the service was exemplary. Speaking to Shane, who arranged everything, from our romantically decorated room, to our wine and fruit basket, to a surprise birthday dinner for my husband. Thank you Shane!! Everything was very professionally done and we CANNOT complain where service is concerned, the staff are genuinely friendly and just great! Our room was very spacious and comfortable, the food was absolutely delicious, the pool was very inviting and relaxing, the drinks were tasty, my personal favorite was the scorpion. We enjoyed the total ambiance of the hotel, our staycation honeymoon was better than we dreamed it would be and we do plan on returning in the future.

Room Tip: We had no noise issues with our Garden view room (205)

Stayed at the Coco Palm from 19-30 November 2012.

This is a little oasis and hideaway in the middle of a busy location. Arriving late on a friday night exhasusted and weary we were efficiently checked in to our pool view suite, which was spacious, clean and very comfortable.

Claudine who manages the hotel is a great asset and leads a professional team. Our housekeeper Delia was a sheer delight. Front reception staff are great and will assist with any query in a polite and very friendly manner.

The bar, pool, diner and lounge areas are comfortable and staff in these areas all very inviting and friendly especially Patricia. We had a very warm and welcoming stay. When travelling we usually stay in well known, larger 4 or 5 star contemporary hotels, which provide the luxury but staff tend to be distant. The Coco Palm was a choice to try something different, with a local island feel, and we were not disappointed. What made it an especially enjoyable stay were the staff, who were not impersonal and matter of fact but very welcoming with a smile, cheerful hello and enquiring about your stay not just at the hotel but your holiday travelling around the Island.

We did not stay all-inclusive but the catering at the hotel is excellent, from the bar food selection, to the buffet and al la carte menu. The island has a very laid back feel, however the location of the Coco Palm Resort puts you within easy walking distance of the beach, bars, restaurants and local shopping area.

The overall property is very well maintained, the lobby area is small and functional, but first impressions soon fade away as you visit the poolside, bar and lounge areas.

During our stay we visited other nearby hotels, and to Coco Palm came tops for staff customer service and a feeling of being part of a hotel family and not just isolated guests. Credit is to be given to all the staff at the Coco Palm, whether you are a sole traveller, a couple, a group of friends or a family your stay at the Coco Palm will be an enjoyable one. If you have a problem or query ask the staff and they will always assist and even come up with a better solution.

This is a hotel that we will definately return back to next year. Thank you Coco Palm for making our stay in St Lucia a memorable one, with your suggestions on places to visit and things to do in and out of the hotel.

See you again next year 2013.

Room Tip: Choose a pool side view room on any level and stay in the main hotel.

The hotel was good and I agree with the other positive comments. The only problem I had was I stayed early Sept. for 4 nights and would say that about 80% of the bars and resturants in Rodney Bay were closed. If I did return it would be in the high season. The pool was very good.

We know you have a choice when travelling and delighted you chose to stay with us.Unfortunately September is traditionally when the local bars take the opportunity to refurbish and have their annual holiday as it is the low season which hopefully your review will guide future guests. This is an excellent hotel right in the middle of all the action- but once within the hotel grounds you feel you could be miles away. Very peaceful and great for kids. Stayed in a poolside room which was great for the kids. Food is lovely and if you want a light snack there are great options (must try the chicken roti). For business it is not a long ride to Castries and the wi-fi makes it easy to stay in touch. Cannot say enough about the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff at all levels.

Room Tip: Pool side (garden or swim-up) is a must if you're going to spend a lot of time at the hotel.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

My wife and I traveled to the Coco Palm in St. Lucia the first week of October 2012. It took about an hour and 15 minutes to drive from the UVF Airport to the hotel. The scenery on the drive is unreal. When you first walk into the lobby of the Coco Palm, you won't be blown away if you have been to a 5 Star at other destinations. The lobby is on the lower level, the furniture is basic, and there is a bit of a musty smell, don't worry, take a deep breath and let one of the best vacations ever begin. Check-in was fast, although we were not offered a cold drink like other check-ins at an all inclusive. The Coco Palm is downtown in Rodney Bay, you don't need a guide or a taxi to explore the town. There are 2 malls near-by, lot's of bars and restaurants, and a Casino. We enjoyed walking off the hotel property for sight seeing and shopping. The Coco Palm is rated a 3 Star, don't let this scare you off, it's not like Cuba or the Dominican. A "3 Star" is probably a true rating and it would equivalent to a Raddisson type chain in North America.

We had a pool view room, it was very large and clean and did not have any odor's or creepy crawlies. The view of the pool was spectacular, and overall the property is beautiful and well maintained. There was a bit of noise from the bar across the street playing music in the evenings, it didn't bother us, get a garden-view room if you think noise is going to be an issue. We had friends stay in a room close to the elevator, it would make a very loud "DING" at each floor, get a room number higher than 06 (106, 206, 306) to be out of earshot from the elevator "DING". There is a safe in the closet, an ironing board, hair dryer and free wireless internet. The internet was good for checking email, but it took a long time to even upload one pic to Facebook. The only minor complaints about the room was there is not enough light in the bathroom for my wife to ready herself for dinner and the bed was a bit hard. There is a basic 20" CRT TV in the room, I flicked through the channels briefly, there seemed to be plenty of English options, but we didn't go to St. Lucia to watch TV.

The Coco Palm has a very large beautiful pool. The water appears to be dark green from a distance, it is the tile that gives it that appearance. The pool was hardly busy and it was no trouble to get a pool chair. The beach is about a 5-10 minute walk depending which way you go, the signs from the Coco Palm fall short when you leave the property and we ended up at the marina before finding our way to the beach. Reduit beach itself is not bad, but it is not as good as the beaches in Mexico or Cuba. The water was a bit murkier for snorkeling and there isn't as many colorful fish close to shore. The locals say Soufriere, near the Piton's, is a better option if snorkeling is on your agenda.

The restaurant and bar at the Coco Palm was excellent. There was never any line-ups and the food was some of the best I have ever had at any all-inclusive. The beef burger was as good as or better than anything I have eaten in Alberta (#1 for Beef in Canada). The biggest issue with the all-inclusive option at the Coco Palm is the menu is very limited and it's confusing. There are 2 menu's, one for all-inclusive guests, and one for non-inclusive guests. There are items on the non-inclusive menu that all-inclusive guests can enjoy, and if you want steak, lobster, or shrimp, you will have to pay extra. There is no bracelet system like other resorts, you have to make sure to tell the bartender or restaurant servers that you are an all-inclusive customer, otherwise you will may get a bill for non-inclusive food and drinks when you check out. Another annoying issue is you have to sign for your meals and drinks as if you were paying each time. If you spend an hour in the pool and have 4 drinks, you need to sign for them before going anywhere else. I would like too see the Coco Palm improve on this by expanding their menu and come up with an identification system (BRACELET!!!) so the staff know exactly the type of meal package you purchased and remove signing the bill each time you place an order. If you get bored of the menu, there are plenty of options that are a short walk near by.

St. Lucia is a beautiful, amazing Island. Going to the Piton's, live Volcano, and Marigot Bay is a must. Marigot Bay is probably the most beautiful place I have ever seen, it is unbelievably picturesque. Pigeon Island is a good tour and it is not far from the Coco Palm. If you want to do a tour and get a history lesson for a great price, email Andre at josephdre913@hotmail.com. He has been doing tours since 1995 and takes his time, no crazy driving maneuvers with Andre at the controls. We also went to the "JUMP UP", basically it is a street party in Gros Islet and they have it every Friday night. Everyone's house turns into a bar, music is playing and people dance in the street. I'm not much for large crowds, but I did enjoy blending with the culture on the Friday of our vacation. It's a short cab ride from the Coco Palm. If you hire a Taxi, make sure the license plate starts with the letters "TX", this indicates the taxi is licensed by the government.

The people of St. Lucia are very friendly and they seem happy to do their jobs to make your experience the best it can be, and it shows in the service at the Coco Palm. The staff are friendly and they are always interacting with the guests. The staff at the Coco Palm, by far, have given my wife and I some of the best "CUSTOMER SERVICE" that we ever experienced at any resort anywhere. They make the Coco Palm what it is, and I have never been anywhere where I have met so many people that return to the same place over and over again. I met travelers that have returned to the Coco Palm up to 16 times, that is amazing. Amelia and Shady stood out as great ambassadors of what customer service should be at every resort. The Coco Palm is very lucky to have them as part of their staff. We haven't stopped thinking about our amazing trip since we returned. We are now "CRAZY FOR COCO PALM" and like many others before us, this will not be our last visit. We are already planning a return sometime next year. If you book a trip to St. Lucia, you won't regret calling the Coco Palm home for the duration of you vacation.

Room Tip: If noise from the bars across the street is going to be an issue, book a garden-view room. Get a roo...

On behalf of Coco Palm Management we wish to extend our gratitude for taking the time to post such a comprehensive review following your visit to Coco Palm. We know you have a choice when travelling and delighted you chose to stay with us.

We note your points including cold drinks on arrival and the elevator 'ding'. In regard to F&B, we do request guests to sign for all tabs for accounting purposes as we operate both EP & AI simultaneously. Our AI & EP menu are identical with all portions equal but the AI menu has no prices quoted. Should AI guests want to order lobster, shrimp or premium steaks there is a supplement of $12 per person which we hope you were briefed on arrival. Premium wine and liquor are available to AI guests also at a supplement. We continue to explore the best way to execute AI and EP options simultaneously. Whilst bracelets are the most obvious solution it is not something we would consider.

We hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to Coco Palm, KoKo Cabana and Saint Lucia.

Warm regards,
