“Small, friendly & perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

Hotel Blu is an excellent Hotel and I really enjoyed my stay. The Hotel is in a perfect location with a short walk to the stunning beach - Reduit Beach. An Ideal spot to watch the sunset.

The Hotel has a very relaxed environment and the staff are amazing. I know you shouldn’t have your favourites, as all the staff were very friendly and went the extra mile to make sure you’re enjoying your holiday but, Cathy, stood out for me. Little superstar!

My room was clean and the bed very comfortable.

I met lots of fantastic people at Hotel Blu and I know I will be back in the near future.

If you’re thinking about booking – Go for it!!

We had room 314 and it probably had the best view over Pigeon Island from the balcony but it was also close to the Happy Bar which was really noisy until 2am on Friday night and had Karaoke on Sunday night which made watching a film quite difficult. We also had problems with the hot water and only managed a hot shower once. But this is a nice hotel in a good location just 5 mins walk from the beautiful Reduit beach and some good restaurants nearby. The beach was lovely and we can thoroughly recommend taking a boat from the beach across to pigeon island where the walk to Rodney Fort is well worthwhile as was the snorkling on the beach near the jetty. If you walk across to the other beach on the atlantic cost there is a very friendly bar in the cellar of the old Officer's quarters. The main highlight was the catamaran cruise down to Soufiere where we had a dip in a waterfall, visited a volcano and plantation where we had lunch and then a snorkle on anse cochon which was beautiful. The Mango boat was a real party boat and the crew girls were fantastic dancers - so a magical day

Room Tip: I would avoid 314 if you want to have a decent night's sleep due to the proximity of Happy Day B...

On arrival we were greeted with cold towels & rum punch. The standard of service was excellent , as was the food. We found the staff extremely friendly, going out of their way to help - nothing was too much trouble.
The beach is 5 minutes away with many bars & restaurants along the way.

The hotel itself is nestled in among some larger ones but that doesn't detract from its appeal.

Although small the hotel has a character all of its own. The rooms are spotless & the beds are to die for. Once all the bathrooms are refurbished the hotel will be 5* on all counts. Especially once Trader Vic's is positioned on the corner of the property making it the focal point by the entrance.

The only drawback I would say its the time is takes from the international airport, although scenic it is long. Once harlequin air is up & running this could provide a quicker journey.
We will be back!!

Staff were really friendly, wheter they were the cleaning crew to management,we enjoyed our stay, shame we had endured hell at, Smugglers.

I spent the past week staying at Blu in St Lucia. Couldn't ask for better. Fantastic friendly staff who went out of their way to help, great, clean and very comfortable room. Thoroughly recommend staying at this hotel. Right down to the fruit punch given on arrival, and the mug of take out tea for the trip to the airport on the final morning.

Room Tip: The third floor offers views of the ocean.

Excellent Holiday, Lovely Staff who were very professional and also friendly and couldn't do enough to make our holiday fantastic. Beautiful bedrooms with lovely linen and towels, bathrooms in need of refurbishment which is I believe on the cards. The one show room which was completely refubished was very tastefully done. Food was excellent and a very well stocked bar. Also the Spa was lovely with a gorgeous very knowledgable beauty therapist who knew her stuff. Didn't want to lleave Blu and hopefully will go again.

This is a very nice hotel but what makes it an exceptional holiday experience are the fabulous staff.
We stayed here for 10 days in January. From the moment we arrived - greeted by smiles, cold towels and delicious rum punch - we knew this was going to be great.
All the staff, no exceptions, are absolutely lovely - the perfect mix of professionalism & warmth and cannot do enough to make your stay perfect. Cindie (rooms & reservations manager) is a superstar & every hotel should have one of her. She works magic behind the scenes and nothing is too much trouble. We had the most romantic and memorable anniversary dinner in a private gazebo - amazing!
We paid a premium with the travel agent for a suite & I would say it was worth it. The room was spotless with a really comfy bed and huge sundeck with two premium loungers. Our linen was changed every day and we had endless fresh towels that looked brand new.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, as was the wine :) As this hotel was unknown to us before we booked, I chose not to go all inclusive. However, having stayed and eaten in the hotel I would recommend the AI option as very good value - I wish we'd done it ourselves.

There were only two negatives - which I think are more to do with travel agent PR/overselling than the hotel itself, but I will point out as I think they will be helpful to fellow travellers:

1) The bathrooms have not been refurbished. Even our suite had an old fashioned bathroom with a tiny shower - no bath. But it was clean, had lots of room around the sink for toiletries etc and tons of gorgeous clean towels & Molton Brown products.
2) All agents and the hotel's brochure state that Suites offer a complimentary stocked mini bar. We paid a premium to the operator to upgrade to a suite as we thought the sun deck and a fully stocked mini bar would be worth it. There was NO mini bar, just 4 bottles of water on the first day. We were quite disappointed by this.

Overall - if R&R in the sunshine is what you need - head to Blu...........you won't regret it!
