the staff are generally lovely, friendly and helpful withthe odd exception. Food is not good - very disappointed by this. Hotel generally has a cold, unwelcoming atmosphere which again, was disappointing. We agree with previous comments that to stay at the Bay Gardens on the beach opposite the Village Inn and Spa would be the best advice we could give.

Village Inn and Spa and Kuoni Travel Collection have let us down pretty badly.

“don,t go here fore the food”

Village Inn & Spa at Rodney Bay

To say we were extremely disappointed with this one would be an understatement. Having read the reviews decided that nothing could be this bad - how wrong we were. The rooms are O.k. pool O.K but sun loungers only 2 inches apart. Don,t expect to find the bar open after 10.30 at night - arrvied back on more than one occasion to find it being shut - it is advertised as being open from 11 am to 11 pm but if there is no one there in the evening from about 10 they will close it, so if you have been out and want a drink back at the hotel make sure you get back before 10 p.m. However, the most disappointing thing of all was the food, which to us is one of the best bits of any holiday.

Don,t expect the food to be hot, don,t expect choice and don;t expect to put on weight!

Had undercooked pink chicken one lunchtime followed by almost raw fish the following day. Complained to the manager, food was o.k.(ish) that evening but then back to the usual boring stodge. One morning we went in to the dining room at 7,30 when it openend to see if the breakfast items were hot - even when they were brought out they were luke warm. The sausages were 'off' on most days. Fruit and salads together with real caribbean food were non existant. Our first trip to the Caribbean - you always look forward to holidays and we had neve been here before, unfortunately this was enough to put us off going back. If you feel the need to eat elsewhere spinnakers on the beach - fantastic, for up market try the Edge overlooking rodney Bay Marina. In fact all the other eateries were faultless. May be the owners/kitchen staff at the village Inn & Spa should look to these other establishments for inspiration. If any Tour operators that use this hotel read my comments suggest you send in someone to check up on the food at this place as it does not deserve to be in any brochure.

We decided to stay at this hotel after our friends had already booked to go there through a travel agency. We decided to book ourselves online and save some money. Well we got a smokin deal being that it was hurricane season, but that was about the only real good thing about our stay at this hotel. The staff was overall very unfriendly and unwilling to help or provide any assistance. We were given attitude by everyone at the front desk and when asking simple requests to make reservations for dinner or golf, we were left to do it on our own. The hotel location is fine (across the street from the best beach in St. Lucia). The hotel rooms were clean but could certainly use improvements.

DO NOT PAY FOR ALL-INCLUSIVE. Our friends had this and unless you plan to spend all your time at the hotel (which you won't) and eat all their food (which is subpar in comparison to some other great restaurants in the area), it's not worth it!

RECOMMENDATIONS: Pay the extra to stay across the street at the new Bay Gardens Beach Resort. So worth the extra money!!! It's new, beautiful, on the beach, has a great pool, great beach front restaurant and the staff there was so friendly. We would go there to get help when the staff at our hotel could not help us.

Do go in hurricane season, just make sure your trip can be cancelled if there is a hurricane. It was so worth it to go at this time of year. The long stretch of beach was barely dotted with tourists (usually the cruise ships drop all their guests at this beach). And you'll get awesome rates at this time of year.

TOURS: Do a catamaran tour to the other side of the island. It was agreat way to see the Island without being stuck in a car for hours driving on windy roads. $90 / person and well worth it.

EAT: Mojitos in Gros Islet was great for drinks (if you like Mojitos) Also go to the Buzz for seafood. We had the lobster there and it was unbelievable! Spinnakers on the beach is nice for lunch and Cafe Claude was also great for lunch.

“6 out of 10 stars.”

Village Inn & Spa at Rodney Bay

Overall service was OK. Staff was ok, but the managment was not very helpful. The internet service barely worked. The breakfast buffet was not great. The food could have been wayy better. The best thing to order on the menu was a Hamburger from the bar. Rooms were spacious, clean and the balcony was a great addition. The showers could have been a bit bigger. Right across from the beach. And the pool was nice and clean. The hotel is kind of a long walk from the main road. And taxi service is about 15 EC just to get to the main road, where there is taxi service for 1.50 EC.

Overall my experience is 6 out of 10 stars. Enjoy!!!!

This hotel is a nice laid back hotel you can either have full board or do your own thing. Breakfast is not the best that I have had on the island but not bad. The staff are very nice and the rooms very spacious and clean. Although the hotel was not full to capacity we had entertainment most nights from good steel bands. Perhaps not a brilliant hotel for families but very nice for couples and adults. It is located at a very quiet end of Rodney Bay and the beach is only 5 minutes walk. The Spa is very good also, with nice staff.

The area of Rodney bay is fantastic and very diverse with plenty of good restaurants and bars to eat in. The beach is very nice as well.
