“Something for the weekend living as a local”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

The Bay Gardens Hotel is perfect location for shopping, restaurants, clubs & even the beach. I have stayed here a few times with friends, to experience the night life by the strip. Rodney Bay is far from my usually residence so in order to make a night of it, we usually book a hotel to have as a base rather than worrying about getting home after a night of fun. The island has one cinema to date so this is also close to the area. The hotel is minutes away from Baywalk Shopping Mall, and the supermarket is close too. The hotel has a nice size pool, offers table tennis, a bar, & the food is buffet style. The rooms were cool as had AC, clean and roomy. Minutes away from Reduit Beach, which offers water sports like the jetskies. An all rounder if you want a bit of everything to conclude your visit.

We stayed here for almost a week. The staff was quite helpful when our luggage was lost and when we wanted advice about the area. The rooms look just like the pictures. We had a suite with a patio facing beautiful flowers and sat out there all the time. The kitchen living room area was quite large and very clean. The bathroom was clean there was shampoo and body wash in the shower. Some aspects were slightly run down(like spots in bath that needed caulking) but over room was great Caribbean style room and they are in process of upgrading some rooms. They give you really nice towels to take to beach at the bay garden resort which you can get to either by shuttle or a 10-15 minute walk. Most of the time we walked. The each there is really nice and there are free chairs for hotel guests. We liked that it was a two minute walk to the mall especially when we needed to get things since our luggage was lost. Also two minute walk to two supermarkets with many American products

My boyfriend and I came on vacation from Trinidad and stayed at Bay Gardens Hotel. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. We stayed in room 236 unfortunately the television there badly needs upgrading and the bathroom sinks need to be changed. However, the room was always clean and well kept all the staff were exceptional especially the housekeeping staff. the maid who cleaned our room everyday was quite nice. Kaleen and Jonia I remember made sure our stay was incredible they were very efficient and informative and so friendly that regardless I would love visiting again.

We’re very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We’re currently in the process of upgrading our television sets, so moving forward we hope to be rid of all older sets. We’ll also give some attention to the sink as you pointed out.
We would be happy to have you as our guests again!

We stayed at Bay Gardens Hotel during the Jazz Festival. The Hotel is well appointed with clean & modern rooms - (our room overlooked the pool area) , and has friendly staff. The location is great; as my husband & I could just walk over to the newly built Mall, supermarket, night life and restaurants in the nearby area. Definitely would stay here again.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

My cousin (who lives in England) and I stayed at the Bay Gardens Hotel from January 21 to February 1. We booked directly with the hotel. At first, I was going to travel solo so I had simply booked a standard room. When my cousin decided to join me I asked to be upgraded to a superior room with two queen beds. Well, something went wrong and on check-in we got a standard room with a king bed. After some time to sort this little matter out we did get what I had asked for and the hotel was good enough to waive the additional charges due to the mix-up and inconvenience so we did not have to pay for the upgrade. I was very impressed.

The place is spotless. All staff wore name tags and I did not hesitate to call them by name. They appreciated it and were most friendly. Hats off to Tekla and Melissa who were exceptional in the dining room and to Deborah, our maid, who stocked us with additional towels and coffee for our coffee maker without us even having to ask. There was no smoking allowed even at the bar, which really impressed us. Internet access is free. There is a taxi service right in the hotel if you need it. There is a shuttle to their sister property, the Bay Gardens Beach Resort, but we did not use it as we preferred to walk. We had the use of all the facilities at the Resort. There are many fantastic restaurants within walking distance, which I shall review. The public bus stops right outside the door - no need to take a taxi to the Castries market as it is the end of the line for the bus. Fare is only EC$2.25 each way so it beats US$20 for a taxi.

If you are looking for a departure from the all-inclusives and you really want to experience the town and its people I can think of no better place than this. The only reason I did not rate it a 5 is because I simply cannot rate it the same as a high end property. However, if Trip Advisor had a spot for a 4 1/2 star rating I would have given it.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

We stayed at the Bay Garden Hotel from the 3rd to the 10th of February. From the moment we arrived, we knew we stumbled across a very special hotel. We had done research previous to our departure and had chosen a "junior suite" instead of a regular room. We were not disappointed. For a small additional charge we had a kitchenette and sitting area. The kitchenette was fully equipped. The staff was always helpful and friendly. More importantly than that, all the people of St. Lucia we met in our trip, were all so refined, friendly and genuinely very nice people.

The access to the Bay Garden Resort on the beach was the BIG advantage to this hotel. We liked being in town, (near the Mall, but more importantly the grocery store). The Hotel is well located to do trips by bus (The 1A!) and easy to walk or take a shuttle to the beach.

The only points I have where I think the hotel could improve is the washrooms and shuttle bus.
The washrooms could eventualy use a renovation, although they were adequate. The shuttle bus could run more often to be more convenient. Once an hour didn't feel very convenient.

We will never forget our "baby-moon" in St. Lucia. We had such a wonderful time and the BGH and the people of St. Lucia were the main reason that we had such a amazing time.

Thanks again,

G + V

Room Tip: Choose a room in one of the buildings near the secondary pool.
