This hotel is fantastic for relaxing and getting away for a while. It's found in Gros Islet, in the very north of the Island. If you are flying in from Europe/America then it is a LONG drive from the airport in the far south, about 1 hour 45 mins. Some take a helicopter up which is a nice alternative. Once you are here the sea is warm and beautiful and the hotel surroundings are perfect.
The rooms, some are renovated and quite modern, the finishing touches are a little rusty, like the shower leaks all over the bathroom floor, and the finish on the tiles is a little amateur. However the beds are very comfortable and spacious. You have a separate lounge area which has a huge flat screen TV if you plan to watch any of that. There is a fridge, safe and other normal amenities. It's all very modern, the balcony is spacious and very nice to relax on, or dry your towels over.
The pool is huge and interesting, with a swim up pool bar and great plants and decor. The Beach is right on the property and the sand is white and fluffy. There are plenty of water sports going on and a man who sells fresh fruit comes by in his boat a couple of times a day, it's very fresh and interesting to buy fruit from a floating grocery store. There are hotel masseuses on the beach offering all sorts of treatments. The hotel gym is very small and not adequate at all, it needs to be enlarged and also improved but this was about the only negative.
Staff were very receptive and helpful always which is good to see and the place never seemed full which was also lovely, no scrapping over who gets the sun lounger. There is a restaurant on the beach and it's quite romantic to have your evening meal there. Alternatively there are about 20 restaurants all within a 15 minute walk of the hotel, everything from Caribbean food to Indian and Chinese food...
There is also a supermarket about 10 mins walk away where you can get basics and medicine etc, it's a fantastic location for all your holiday needs. If you want to see the rest of the island it's good to hire a car and head down the west coast, you can see the Piton mountains and the mud baths and it's just an amazing drive! Enjoy your holiday
