“truly peaceful and relaxing place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

My wife and I stayed our late January vacation there for one week. The hotel location is unique with spectacular view of Rodney Bay and Pigeon Island. It is like having a little villa on top of hill with pretty garden around. It is quiet, cozy and clean. It is close to Rodney Bay just by 30 minutes walk, though there is everyday free shuttle from the hotel. The owner Cheryl is truly a friend making you feel at home, helping you gain most out of your vacation. The small restaurant acts like a house kitchen accommodating your taste as much as possible. All the persons in charge in the hotel are very polite and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Room Tip: Room on the second floor with two balconies faces the ocean if you can reserve it months ahead !

“Genuine hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

Habitat terrace is a really nice hotel. Stay here if you want to try something more genuine than the bigger hotels in Rodney Bay. The owner Cheryl is very, kind, helpful and serviceminded. You can walk to the beach, and even to Pigeon Island if you are up for a longer walk.

“First Class - Home from Home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Wow what an absolute gem of a hotel! I came on holiday with a large group of family and friends, to visit family on the island and to celebrate my 50th birthday. We were looking for a small hotel with a homey atmosphere, somewhere my mum and all of us could be safe and relax and where I could host the party. Habitat Terrace offered this and was the absolute perfect choice! The owner Cheryl and her fantastic staff make sure your every need is met. Taking us in her mini bus to Castries to see the Festival of Lights and to church in Gros Islet, she ensures her guests are well looked after - First class service!
The apartments are spacious, cleaned daily with fresh linen and towels, extremely comfortable and lovely decorated. Cheryl is creative, and charming and we witnessed two beautiful weddings that she hosted at the hotel during our stay. The apartments worked perfectly for my family with lovely french doors that provided easy access to the beautifully tended garden and plunge pool area and great views of Rodney Bay - which is 5 mins away by car. Our stay and the birthday party was a huge success. This gem of a hotel comes highly recommended!

Room Tip: The apartments on the ground floor gave easy access to pool and garden - great for older guests and...

“A peaceful little place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Time of our stay: 7 days in December.

Location/Convenience: This little place is located on a hill, about 30 minutes walk to Rodney Bay Marina where you will find some very nice cafes, restaurants and a small supermarket. The owner Cheryl often offers a lift down whenever she is free, but the walk down is easy, pleasant and offers an very nice view.

Rooms: Our room (106), kind of next to the Jacuzzi pool was very nice, clean and comes with TV (BBC World, CNN, etc), Hair dryer, fridge and ensuite toilet with shower, etc. Cheryl showed us around the rest of the house and there are many different rooms, studio and flats that fit different purposes, some with your own kitchen. It is a brilliant place for couples and families.

Transport: We walked to most of the places nearby, but there is a really good local bus service if you do not fancy walking! One bus about every 5 minutes, that will take you to most places. There is a bus stop right opposite the Rodney Bay Marina, where you can get to Gros Islet (1.5EC), the fishing village, where you can find another amazing beach and if keep walking, you will get to Pigeon Island. We did this walk and it was very nice! you can also get to Castries (the capital of St Lucia,  on the 1A bus, cost 2.5EC).

Rodney Bay Reduit beach: Another 15-20 minutes walk from the Marina (turn right when you walk out the the Marina or 5 minutes on a bus). It is very nice and clean and well looked after. I think the asking price for a deckchair or a beach umbrella (each) is about 10USD (6GBP)... You will see locals selling fresh coconut and fruits on their colourful boats along the beach. Most of the restaurants near the beach are very westernised. Many restaurants are owned by Westerners anyway. If you fancy an expensive 'top-end' place, there is Charhouse, where you can treat yourself with a superbly cooked steak with a nice and cold fruit punch! A meal for two, two mains, two cold drinks plus two teas cost about 300EC (70GBP ish). If you fancy middle range food, there is always pizza places, Dominos is never far away!

Have a lovely trip! St Lucia is a very nice place!!

“Great place -- highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

We looked at numerous places to stay in St. Lucia before deciding on Habitat Terrace. It was everything we had hoped for. Set in a quiet location in the hills above Rodney Bay, we had a great view of Pigeon Island and the Marina. It was quiet at night, but the Village and the Marina were just five minutes by car. One of our most enjoyable experiences was having breakfast each morning in the dining area and talking with the owner, Cheryl. She is very nice and made sure our stay there was enjoyable. Our room was very nice, with a comfortable bed and a balcony where we could sit outside and look down to the water. And the price was more than reasonable. A luxury resort it is not, but if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, quiet place to stay that is not too far from the tourist areas, I would highly recommend Habitat Terrace. I know that's where we will be staying when we go back to St. Lucia. One tip: Be sure to ask Cheryl for her friend's coconut bread. It's the best!
