“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

If you are thinking of renting an apartment near the Rodney Bay area of St Lucia, you would be hard pressed to find accomodation better than Blue Skies. My husband and I rented the 1 bedroom apartment from 25/1 for 14 nights and it was spacious, clean, well equipped and very good value for money.
The owners Simon and Francine are very nice people who go out of their way to assist you and make sure that your stay is enjoyable. The welcome pack provided was very useful and their free orientation tour of the area on our first morning was really helpful and we were able to get our bearings very quickly.
The pool is very clean and good for swimming plus the garden is very well kept. We enjoyed looking at all the birds, lizards and our own resident land crabs! It is an easy 10 minute walk to the Rodney Bay Marina with a nice broadwalk bar plus a handful of restaurants and then a slightly longer (20 minutes) in to Rodney Bay itself.
In summary, Blue Skies is a very good choice and we highly recommend it.

The owner Simon and Francine are very friendly and helpful. They want to make sure that everything is ok with you (transport, comfort, attraction to visit). Simon made suggestions on how to get around and where to go. Despite arriving in St Lucia on Christmas Eve on the day of all rain and disasters from washed away bridges and roads, loss of life etc, we felt right at home in Blue Skies. We didn't even know all the damaged occurred, we just thought it was a lot of rain. We had a welcome package of milk, juice, bread, eggs and butter awaiting us in the refrigerator. (yayy) We also got to steal 2 coconuts off a tree in the lovely garden (Sorry and thanks Simon and Francine :) ). My nephew lived in the pool but because of the weather for the duration of our stay, the water was always cold so my mom didn't go in and I went in only once. Blues Skies is definitely recommended. Great hosts, lovely garden and beautiful environment. Located close to attractions such as Pigeon Island, Gros Islet, Rodney bay, the Rodney bay Marina and the boatyard where one of the boats that appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean 1,2 and 3 is docked. Would be staying at Blue Skies next time I'm in St. Lucia for sure!

My wife and I just spent 3 weeks at the Blue Skies Apartments, specifically the 3-bedroom on the 2nd floor. It is huge, well appointed, tastefully furnished, immaculate and properly maintained. Each bedroom is individually air conditioned with very comfortable beds. The 2 upstairs verandas are cooled by day-time breezes as you look over a beautiful pool and surrounding green hills. The garden is massive. As important is the location close to Rodney Bay, the village of Gros Islet and the Marina. The owners, Francine & Simon, are polite and incredibly helpful.
We do recommend this place for those who want the comforts of home at an affordable price.

Room Tip: There are 2 other apartments in the complex (1-bedroom & 2-bedroom). We like the immense space o...

My wife and I stayed at Blue Skies in November 2013. The villa itself is lovely, with a secluded pool and gardens - it is clean, very comfortable and secure.
We enjoyed visiting the surrounding beaches and towns- and zip lining! Thanks Francine and Simon!

We spent 1 week at the flat in the ground floor and really enjoyed our stay. The flat was well furnished and in a good location for the Marina. We also hired a car to drive around, but you could probably get around well by using the very frequent buses that leave within a short walk from the main road. Francine and Simon were very friendly and hospitable, pointing us to the best places and restaurants around there and helping us out when we had an issue with the car.
I recommend the apartment wholeheartedly.

We just returned from a fabulous stay at Blue Skies, in the newly opened 3-bedroom apartment upstairs which Simon & Francine used to live in. The villa was perfect for our needs as a family with a 3 year old and a 10 month old. You just need to take care with the kids by the pool (as you would anyway!) as there is a big drop. Very spacious and well equipped, with a sunny balcony and a shady balcony and lots of windows to let in lots of natural light and the odd hummingbird! The pool and gardens are very well kept and spacious, with beautiful tropical plants, birds and butterflies. While the marina and several restaurants are quite close, we found it a bit far to walk to town and the beaches but as others have mentioned, Simon & Francine provide a local mobile phone during your stay, pre-programmed with their numbers and Ali, their trusted taxi driver. It was much cheaper to get a couple of local taxis a day rather than hire a car as the distances are very short. A car would be great to explore further afield (and Simon & Francine have one they rent out) but as we spent a week down in the south afterwards, we didn't need to while at Blue Skies. Simon & Francine gave us a folder with other guests reviews of local restaurants which was a great shortcut to finding good food and were always available to help with any questions. Simon's free orientation trip on the first morning was a perfect start to the holiday and enabled us to work out which beaches to return to at our leisure. Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing holiday - we may well be back!

What a wonderful holiday we have just had in St Lucia, made even better by the warmth and hospitality of Simon and Francine at Blue Skies. The villa itself is lovely, with a secluded pool and gardens - it is clean, very comfortable and secure - but it is the host's attention to detail and welcoming nature that has made it a truly fantastic experience. While we chose an appartment because we like the independence, our holiday has been enhanced through their willingness to share their knowledge and experience, offering lifts to beaches, booking organised trips, giving a local guided tour etc etc. It seems that their aim is to help guests get the most out of their holiday as possible, being there when needed rather than imposing themselves, and their enthusiasm for the island has been infectious. We highly recommend this appartment to anyone looking to stay in the Rodney Bay area.
