If you are looking to have your wedding at a Caribbean location, this is the place. From start to finish our experience with the Bay Gardens Beach Resort in St Lucia was amazing. The hotel is new and modern. The rooms/suites felt just like home. Suites came with full functioning kitchen, 1 1/2 baths, living and dining room areas. My sister, her husband with 3 kids had a 2-bedroom suite with 2 1/2 baths. All were extremely comfortable and happy. My mother stayed in her own private suite. We too stayed for our first 3 days of our honeymoon. Complete luxury for all. Our honeymoon suite was even decorated in our wedding color upon arrival. All the staff treated us like family. Special thanks to Cheryl Gustave who from day one coordinated our wedding like it was her own. We showed up at the end of the business day to inquire of the hotel for our wedding. Greeted with free drinks and a smile, she gave us undivided attention. Cheryl had a preliminary wedding plan and price quote by that night. The whole staff went above and beyond to make our wedding dreams come true. The food was delicious, perfect down to the desserts. We used all their recommended services for our DJ, videographer and photographer. 100% satisfaction with all they chose. With an ambiance of the beach, waves splashing in the background and a picturesque sunset- no indoor wedding facility can compare. We would recommend to all to have their wedding/vacation/honeymoon here. Since we live in St Lucia we were able to interview and compare with many of the other hotels here. Bay Gardens Beach Resort was by far superior in price, quality, and customer service. Our wedding was perfect to us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We were in St.Lucia for a week. Stayed at Jalousie Plantation and Discovery Marigot Bay. We booked this hotel as we wanted to visit Rodney Bay. And we were looking to stay in somewhat more affordable hotels. We were pleasantly surprised. This hotel is really new so faclities are nice and clean. Staff was great. And hotel is right on beach...And there is a beautiful pool.
We loved that it was so close to Rodney Bay...

We ate at the Dolphin restaurant ( I think that's the name). Its the one that is right beside the hotel. It's the hotel's fine dining option. IT was really good. I highly recommend it. Great presentation and great food.

After spending two glorious weeks at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort I have to say I have been to paradise. Everything - from the moment of check in was wonderful. The staff of the resort and I mean the entire staff from management, front desk, housekeepers, gardeners, restaurant workers - went out of their way to be helpful, friendly and gracious. Our room was a beach front one bedroom suite. It was roomy and well furnished. Daily service kept our room nice and clean. I was a little scared about traveling to the tropics for fear of the bugs - not one did I see in our room for the entire stay. Sitting on our balcony for morning coffee we were pleasantly greeted by all the ground keepers. Ms. Sarah-Lee made sure all our reservations were made and gave us great advise on activities. We had 5 spa treatments in the two weeks and must say the massage was the best. Everything is at your fingertips if you just ask. We booked all our day trips right at the resort. Zip linning was fantastic. I do recommend that one be in pretty good shape to participate. The climb up after the zip line will get you if you aren't! The food at the resort restaurant was very good. Several times we ask for special dishes. Our requests were filled and exceeded our expectations. Our favorite restaurant off the resort was "The Edge". The restaurant was very comfortable, relaxed yet classy and the food was fantastic. We tried the "Charthouse" which we found to have good food but the staff didn't appear very eager to please and didn't seem to have the same island hospitality as we had recieved in other restaurants. Our best find - "Irrie Ices" - the most amazing ice cream in the world. Made from the local fruits the flavors would burst in your mouth. We were lucky to find one taxi driver that was so kind and trust worthy. He is usually out around the Bay Gardens Beach Resort area. His name is Linus (584-4026). I mention this because he was very fair in his rates. He took us for several trips on the island off the beaten path. For example he took us to the market one Saturday - waited for us - took us up on the mountain and the rate was amazingly reasonable. He is also a native and has a wealth of knowledge about the island. Leaving Bay Gardens Beach Resort felt like leaving family - I can't wait to return to see all of our beloved St. Lucian friends.

My wife and I have traveled to approximately a dozen islands in the Caribbean, so we have something to compare our stay to. This hotel advertises itself as a 4, but it is probably closer to a 3.5. It is located on the best part of the island close to shopping, restaurants, etc..... We felt very safe and although we rented a car while there, we walked to dinner each night. Everyone on the island were very friendly and courteous

Some recommendations: don't get the all-inclusive (too many great restaurants within walking distance), be sure to pay the extra bucks and get a suite (awesome), we had a beachfront room but would get a pool view with partial beach view the next time, get directions to the hotel if you have never been before (signs are almost non-existent on the island and the hotel was having theirs re-done due to previous storm damage).

As for Saint Lucia: Do not go there for the beaches as there are other islands with much better beaches (ie - Saint Martin). The natural beauty of the island is stunning (best of all islands that we have visited including Maui, Oahu, and Kaui). The shopping at Castries was very disappointing. The poverty level of most of the island was very evident.

Bottom line: it was a very nice vacation to a lovely island, but we will probably go elsewhere next time.
