My wife and I have traveled to approximately a dozen islands in the Caribbean, so we have something to compare our stay to. This hotel advertises itself as a 4, but it is probably closer to a 3.5. It is located on the best part of the island close to shopping, restaurants, etc..... We felt very safe and although we rented a car while there, we walked to dinner each night. Everyone on the island were very friendly and courteous

Some recommendations: don't get the all-inclusive (too many great restaurants within walking distance), be sure to pay the extra bucks and get a suite (awesome), we had a beachfront room but would get a pool view with partial beach view the next time, get directions to the hotel if you have never been before (signs are almost non-existent on the island and the hotel was having theirs re-done due to previous storm damage).

As for Saint Lucia: Do not go there for the beaches as there are other islands with much better beaches (ie - Saint Martin). The natural beauty of the island is stunning (best of all islands that we have visited including Maui, Oahu, and Kaui). The shopping at Castries was very disappointing. The poverty level of most of the island was very evident.

Bottom line: it was a very nice vacation to a lovely island, but we will probably go elsewhere next time.

I stayed here with my family for just over 2 weeks and it was one of the best holidays of my life! The staff were all very friendly and always gave you a smile and hello. The rooms were lovely! And the views from the rooms are stunning. I reccomend having a cocktail or two at their pool side bar (try the cosmo, its gorgeous!) It is within walking distance of many restaurants of all kinds ( there are indian, chinease, pizza, steak house, fish.. everything!) I will definatly be returning here sometime in the future.

Even though our reservations for a group of 4 was not available as planned upon our arrival, the staff [and of course just being in a beautiful place] made up for it. The hotel is new and the rooms are lovely, as well as the grounds, pool and the beach. The only negative was the food, that definitely needs improvement; but we stocked up on groceries and snacks at the market which is right up the road. Again, the staff, especially Flavia, Victor, Sarah Lee and Taja, made everything that much better! Oh, if you want to get a massage at the property, make sure you ask for Trevor. One more thing, water taxi service is available 1/2 block away at Iguana's. Don't snooze on this property. Our group will definitely be back!

We stayed in a 2bdrm suite with a pool view. It was perfect for our family. It is not a Westin, but more along the lines of a nicer Staybridge or Embassy Suites type of hotel. Plenty of room for us and 2.5 baths. We have 5 kids so we needed the space. The outlet situation is not good- no plugs near any sort of mirror to dry or curl hair. Curling the hair using a compact mirror is not real easy....

They provided beach towels and large umbrellas. We bought plastic cups as they only have glassware in the units. We also brought door alarms with us as the double bed room has an exterior door plus the sliding doors to the patio in that room and the living room. With the kids, it was extra convenient to be walk out level to the pool.

The entertainment was good and an added bonus. We didn't appreciate the Sat. night music that went to 1am as it was poolside and very loud. All other nights it was done by 10 or 11. We did have to ask them to turn off the speakers in the bushes just off our patio. We are not night owls as our children are definite early birds! One night they had a dance, fire-eating troup performing. Rather entertaining-- did not appreciate the extended snake dance with the boa constrictor. Felt they got too pushy with the snake ( and those not comfortable with it)and I really didn't like the image of it coming out of the guys pants. Other than that, it was quite entertaining and the kids were enthralled.

We found the food to be quite expensive and not very good. When we finally found some "good" spots we were fine. We loved Hurricane Hole at Marigot Bay (worth the drive and would do it every day if we had to!), Buzz, and Emeralds. Also thought the breakfast food and lunch options at Tidewaters (hotel beach restaurant) were ok. We took advantage of the kitchen and we ate breakfast in and either lunch or dinner out (got take out for us and PBJ for the kids.) I did bring both peanut butter and jelly from home in case I couldn't find it there. Add the fresh fruit from the market or roadstands and it was fine.

All the employees and staff were very friendly and helpful to us. We also asked if we booked now (before we left) would they honor this years rates-- yes, they did. We would return in a heartbeat. After checking out all the other resorts we had considered, we realized that th is one had the best pool and beach situation for us. Not to mention, conveniently located and new facilities. With our crew, a shuttle or steep hills down to the beach is just not a great option. Also, anything "unique" to a pool makes it much more interesting for the kids.
