“Excellent place to stay, As good as we hoped”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

My wife and I arrived here for 6 nights at the end of May 2013. We had done a bit of research into the place when it had come up on "Living Social's" website. It was a great deal, seemed to good to be true with a free spa treatment and breakfast every day. Amazingly the place gets great reviews so we booked it. We took the St Lucia Helicopter to the resort as it is a long way by car (2.5 hours) from the International Airport which is on the other end of the island. The Helicopter was expensive but kinda cool. Although the weather was not in our favor. I would recommend the Helicopter to get there, just pack some swim clothes in your carry on. Your luggage still has to go by car. It can go ahead of you though I imagine if you wanted to take the Helicopter back rather than you having to leave at the same time.
Anyway the room we were given was super nice. Everything was in great repair. The washing machine was in need of service in our place but the sign said there was complementary service available instead. The place was so large (bigger than our home in Boston) we really spread out and we had the "small" 2 bedroom poolside apts. We were also lucky that there was a power down converter in the apt too for US voltage and a 5 plug power strip for US plugs (FYI plugs are UK here in ST Lucia).
The resort was really nice and quiet. Later we popped over to Sandal's (what a zoo) in comparison. The taxi drivers we chatted to seemed to not like Sandal's corporation for their practices. No one had a bad word to say about Cotton Bay.
We never went to the "up scale" restaurant so i cannot speak to that. We did eat every night except on at the beach front restaurant. It was very nice, reasonably priced. The lamb I had one night was delicious.
Winds are stronger on this side of the island. We never had any issues with it though. In fact we preferred it as it keeps you cooler and keeps the bugs off. I means their are two watersports places on the beach to take lessons at etc. The horse rides that many of the resorts offer excursions too walk this beach every day which made for a nice view. The staff clear the beach of seaweed etc early every morning. The sand is very soft and clean as is the water. Pool is very nice too. Landscaping is under regular attention and looks great. Very pretty flowers etc.
My wife and I had no issues with mozi's etc. The staff did fumigate the resort one day when we were there for maybe 10 mins. The store near the front gate has very little, but it is enough to get by. The bi weekly free shuttle into town can get you to the 2 super markets. FYI they seems to always be sold out of fresh meats when we went.
Staff were extremely chatty and kind. Lots of fun. I would definitely recommend. Especially for families and large groups, the villa's looked cool.
Other than that not much to say.

My husband and I recently spent a week here to celebrate our 5th anniversary. One day we'd like to come back with our kids. We were in a 1BR villa off of the very nice pool and we were so happy with the amount of space and the full kitchen! We were also pleasantly surprised by how good the food was at the beach restaurant. The staff was so friendly and accommodating we really couldn't have asked for a better stay. I'd highly recommend this hotel for a nice relaxing trip to St Lucia!

Cotton Bay is an amazing tropical, peaceful, relaxing, beautiful, and natural getaway with exceptional staff! Cotton Bay exceeded our expectations! We stayed in a poolside villa which was kept immaculate by their attentive housekeeping staff and exceeded all our needs for comfort and luxury. We loved that our courtyard was so private with beautiful tropical plants. The pool was exceptional and with crystal clear water. We booked this on a Group-On that included free massages. We did a couple massage with Joyce and Sue Ellen and had the most amazing massage ever! All the guests we met, also raved about the massages. We celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Piano Piano. It was slow season and only two reservations were booked. However, Cecelia the Maitre D, went out of her way to ensure we received the entire experience we would have on a busy night. She even called in their amazing pianist who was not scheduled to come in. We appreciated how friendly, detailed, and attentive she was. David at the beachside bar was our nightly entertainment. He was such an experienced mixologist with quite the sense of humor. The front desk staff were great and full of quality recommendations. They called us prior to arrival and set us up with a taxi. We were very concerned about hiring taxi drivers after hearing how crazy they drive and the road conditions. But, they recommended Eustis who was fully available to us, professional, punctual, friendly and drove safely. He also was cheaper than other taxis. The shuttle at the resort was helpful in getting into Rodney Bay to shop and bank. The front desk also recommended Sea Spray Cruises to do a catamaran tour of the island. It was fantastic! The main restaurant on site was open to the beach and just a heavenly view of the cove and the wild horses running down the beach was breath taking. The beach was quiet and serene. We were apprehensive booking the resort at first because it was on the Atlantic side away from the resort area, but, it turned out that was the best thing about it. We found ourselves not wanting to leave the property, because it was a true paradise! The grounds are immaculate with beautiful plants, the beach had a covered area with couches where we sat in the morning being served coffee and tea. Cushioned lounge chairs with canopies lined the beach. The resort is the only one in the cove and all you see is St. Lucia's natural beauty. We plan to return, but next visit we just want to stay on property the whole time and enjoy its beauty and the wonderful people from St. Lucia that made our vacation perfect!

My family and I stayed at an amazing two bedroom condo (#64) from May 12 to May 17 2013. Cotton Bay village is located at the north eastern end of the island of St Lucia in the Carribbean. The resort is on a beach facing the Atlantic. The beach is not the best around since there are many more stunning beaches on the west coast. There is a nice restaurant located right on the beach. Its always breezy and beautiful there. The condo is comfortable and clean with standard ammenities. The only negative I could see at this location is that there are lots of mosquitoes and your sleep might be interrupted by the sound of frogs croaking just outside the bedrooms. Once you get used to the noise, its actually cool. The price for the two bedroom condo was moderate around 300 dollars/night plus a fee of 120 for cleaning and electricity (fee varies by actual electrical usage). Housekeeping is great. The price did notinclude meals. This place is worth every penny.

We rented a one bed room villa at Cotton Bay Village and were so pleased. A gorgeous bathroom and bedroom, kitchen, guest bathroom, living room and porch. The resort community was so quiet and peaceful. There was hardly anyone on the beach, which is absolutely gorgeous by the way, and private to the resort. In the mornings they give horse back riding lessons on the beach as well. Some stray dogs on the beach in the morning but nothing to be concerned about, that is just the Caribbean for you. The cafe food was excellent, we had breakfast lunch and dinner here and each time the food was great. Food prices are high yes, but still a good "deal" compared to other resorts. We left the last night to experience another resort and I had wished we never left cotton bay. There is also a large pool great for families or couples. Beware of the sounds of the tree frogs at night in St. Lucia, they are a lot louder than crickets in the US!

Cotton Bay is tucked away for all the right reasons. Our group arrived for jazz and got an excellent three bedroom villa. Spacious, clean and ultra quiet.......welcoming space with 24 hour security. Apartment space was fully furnished to host a dinner party comfortably, almost home away from home. Recommend this resort.

The villa was amazing. We reserved a one bedroom Terra Cotta Villa, but I think all their villas are 3 bedrooms, anyway that is what we got. Absolutely stunning, very clean and staff helpful . This resort is a bit out of the way, but only 10 minutes from Rodney Bay and and 30-45 minutes to Castries. We liked returning to a beautiful calm peaceful place at the end of the day . Our own plunge pool and hot tub on the roof. All clean and in good working order. American outlets downstairs, so no need to bring a converter. We rented a car, which is the way to go, if you are not a timid driver. We do not like to do tours, we like to discover on our own. If you do not rent a car, I do believe the hotel has shuttle to the grocery a few times a week. We ate at the beach bar/restaurant twice and it was good both times. We never ate at Piano, Piano, not in the mood for fancy while we were there. The deli/gift shop had a small assortment of food and trinkets at reasonable prices for most items. The beach is not as beautiful as the Carribean side, but it is quiet and peaceful. There are a few stray dogs but they were friendly and not an issue. The horses were fun to watch. We spent very little time on the beach. I enjoyed the pool the last day.
We spent a couple of days on Reduit Beach at Rodney Bay which was beautiful and enjoyed snorkeling at Sugar Beach (formerly Jaulouse) and Pigeon Point. All beaches are public and free . I will say driving was interesting, with driving on the left and the roads were very winding. But we saw so much more than if we relied on tour groups or shuttles. The locals do drive alot more aggressively than we did , and the round abouts were fun! The week we were there was amazingly slow for all the resorts and beaches, so we enjoyed our privacy and quiet. If you are looking for a quiet getaway in beautiful surroundings this is the place for you. We did not use the spa services.

Room Tip: I don't think any of the rooms face the ocean. We had villa #21 which was close to the exit and...
