“Great to be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2011

We would just like to say thank you to Ginette, Mark, Juan and all the staff at Cotton Bay for the unexpected upgrade to a bigger villa and all the attention to detail they put into everything during our family vacation. Our second trip to Cotton Bay and we were not dissapointed. As soon as we arrived we felt comfortable and our three sons were right at home and straight off with Juan to play. We can only re iterate the other positive comments on TA and can assure anyone thinking of visiting this beautiful relaxing place they should.

Where do we start?
Words cannot describe the quality of service shown by you and all of your staff during our daughter's wedding and our stay at Cotton Bay.
The attention to detail was outstanding, nothing seemed too much trouble, you even controlled the weather!!
The food and drinks you arranged prior and during the wedding were simply first class.
A very special thank you goes to Josie in housekeeping for arranging the pressing of the suits and wedding dress and dealing with the last minute panic!
Thank you too to Joyce and her spa staff for making "the day before" very special.

This is our seccond visit to Cotton Bay and would recommend it to anybody looking for a first class relaxing holiday in st Lucia

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your comments. We are very happy that all went well for you and the wedding party and we look forward to welcoming you back to Cotton Bay some time again.

Very best,

p.s. I really wish we could take credit for the good weather you had; it's been rainy over the past week, but hopefully things are now looking up for St. Lucia's 20th anniversary year of St. Lucia Jazz.

Myself and my partner stayed in Cotton Bay for 10 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. On our arrival we discovered that we had been upgraded to a larger villa and were delighted to be given a complimentary bottle of wine. Our accommodation was beautiful, with two bedrooms, three balconies and three bathrooms.

The accommodation is perfect if you want to do some self-catering as there is a really well appointed kitchen with everything you need.

The staff were all brilliant, friendly and extremely helpful including organising a bottle of champagne for when my partner proposed! - thanks Abdullah!

I can highly recommend the water sports with Terri and Ambrose. It is really reasonable and you can also take the kayaks out for free.

However, as there is only two restaurants in the resort (one of which is only open 3 days per week) choice is limited so we went into Rodney Bay on a number of occassions.

Also the choice in Bruschetta Deli was limited and the prices are quite high.

All in all however, a great holiday and highly recommended.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your comments. Firstly congratulations on your engagement. I will ensure that Abdullah receives your feedback.
We are delighted that you enjoyed your time with us at Cotton Bay and I am pleased to inform that the opening days for Piano Piano, our Fine Dining restaurant have been increased to five days a week from Tue-Sat. Whilst having a Deli on-site offers a degree of convenience with morning coffee's, fresh pastries and free wifi, we do take your comments with regards to limited choice seriously and this is being adressed by our Food and Beverage department, so thank you also for your comments here.

We hope to welcome you back sometime, maybe for your honeymoon? :)

All the very best.

What wonderful gem.
We stayed in a immaculatey decorated, three bedroom villa
With all of the contemporary touches you would expect to find, in a resort of good standing. And some were a lovely unexpected addition.
There was a spiral staircase that led you up on to private roof terrace with a lovely hot tub, jacuzzi. The perfect spot to end the day and watch the sun go down.
We will definitely be back.
All the staff were warm and friendly, and very attentive.

We would love to thank Genevieve Schwigon for make our stay special

Fantastic place, far exceeded our expectations. the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and the whole place has a lovely vibe to it.

we were travelling for the first time with our twin 16 month old babies and were a bit nervous as to how the holiday would go. We needn't have worried....Cotton Bay has a fantastic Kids Club/creche where Juan and Shirley work their magic, leading to two very happy children and two very relaxed parents!

Only drawback to the whole place is that a return taxi to nearest town is $32 US, which is a bit steep! But the great thing is the flexibility that having a proper kitchen AND access to restaurants/room service...a family can have breakfast "at home" in their apartment (and that's how it felt) or choose to go down to the excellent beach bar/restaurant

Wonderful place, lovely people, we will return!

Thank you so much for your comments here. Very pleased that we will have the opportunity to welcome you and your family back some day. Your feedback regarding the expensive taxi fares are duly noted and whilst we do not have much control over the taxi pricing structures, we are in the process of implementing a complimentary hotel shuttle service (which we already have in place) but giving more frequent pick up times, allowing for more flexibility and more time in Rodney Bay. For guests travelling to Castries (i.e. to visit the market and duty free shopping complex) we suggest to take our free shuttle to Rodney Bay and then jump on a bus from there to Castries - this will cost no more than 1 US - one way.

Thanks again,

Warmest Regards,

Genevieve

Our family spent a fantastic week at Cotton Bay in St. Lucia. We stayed in the three bedroom penthouse with our three children; eight, twelve, and fifteen. The apartment was spacious and beautifully appointed. The staff at the hotel catered to our every request. The food was expensive, but a comparatively good value when measured against the offerings in Rodney Bay. Our evening at Piano Piano was perfect; our two youngest kids did not want anything on the menu, so the maitre'd offered to bring food from the beach bar for them. I would highly recommend this hotel for families who want to get away and spend quality time together in a luxurious setting amidst the beauty of St. Lucian scenery.

We stayed in a 3-bed townhouse, with huge comfortable beds and large en-suite bathrooms. All fixtures & fittings are of the highest quality, and we found it spotlessly clean. There is air-con in all bedrooms and a ceiling fan in the lounge.
Also available for our villa was plunge pool in our private garden, and a spa bath on the the roof top terrace. Added to that, there is a huge communal pool with a smaller children's pool alongside and a poolside bar.
The beach is beautiful and very natural. It is windy, being on the Atlantic side of a Windward Island, but the waves do not build up in the bay due to the protection of offshore rocks/reefs and the headlands. It is ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing, and both are available. The windsurfing is free for Cotton Bay residents, apart from the initial lesson. Also free are short excursions with the resident instructor on a Hobie Cat, and use of sit-on ocean kayaks.
We particularly enjoyed the Beach Club bar/restaurant, with its relaxed atmosphere and especially friendly staff, notably Mark and Yolande who mix cocktails expertly and are very generous with the rum in the rum & cokes!
There were always loungers available on the beach, and cold water is often offered to residents on the loungers. Of course, you can opt for a beer, or a cocktail (incl a great range of non-alcoholic specials), and have this served to your lounger or in the covered comfortable seating area on the beach.
We didn't eat at the posher restaurant, as we preferred the informal feel of the Beach Club, and the view of course.
Just along from the Beach Club is a long-established local bar called Marjories - also extremely informal and a great place for a drink. The only other building on the beach is the stable/shed used by the horse-riding groups.
The horses do not make an awful mess as some people have suggested - we were there for 2 weeks and hardly saw any mess at all. Even then, it's easily avoided and cleaned up every day along with the small amount of seaweed, presumably to be used as fertiliser somewhere. we didn't ride, but the horses provided entertainment for us anyway - it's nice to see them alking along with young kids obviously enjoying the experience or galloping along the beach with the handlers or more proficient riders. Best of all, they go into the sea bareback with their riders.
There are good walks to be had from Cotton Bay, over the hills to other smaller beaches, but Cotton Bay is a bit secluded. This is a bonus in many ways but, with the free shuttle bus into Rodney Bay restricting you to 2 hours on Mondays & Wednesdays only, you need to be very organised if you want to cater for yourselves in the well-equipped luxury kitchen. A taxi to the town is 16USD each way.
The only other complaints we had were that the Bruschetta deli is not very well-stocked, though coffee & croissants there are excellent, and the nighttime noise from a pack of dogs and at least one cockerel on the hillside ouside the resort - nothing that Cotton Bay can do about that unfortunately.
We were shown the spa, which looked wonderful, but never used it. Ditto the gym.
We enjoyed it so much, we spent a lot of our second week, planning when to return.

Thank you very much for taking the time to describe your experience at our hotel and it is very encouraging to know that our guests do venture out and explore the immediate surroundings.
Your comment in relation to the deli - Thank you; this has been raised with our Food and Beverage department, to see how we can best address this.

May I say that we we look forward to welcoming you back to our village and please feel free to ask for me, if you require any information.
