We had our wedding at Le Sport on 3/11/08 and loved the place. We actually were originally staying at the sister property, Rendezvous, (which we were VERY disappointed by but that's a whole other review). After spending 4 out of 10 days at Rendezvous, we rented a car and checked out Le Sport and fell in love with it. The staff was very eager to help us and moved us (and our wedding) without issue. We stayed in a remodeled ocean front luxury room right on the first floor. It had a beautiful view of the beach and the room was very nice and I have no complaints to speak of. The beach, unlike most other resorts we saw, was very secluded. All beaches are public in St. Lucia, which is not a big deal during the week, but on the weekend they can get quite crowded. Since Le Sport's beach is harder to get to and more secluded, there was hardly ever any locals there. The beach is also quite beautiful and calm (unlike the beach at Rendezvous which was quite rough with cloudy water). There is also a lovely reef right in front of the beach that offers good snorkeling and scuba. In fact, Sandals brings their guest over to the reef by boat daily (if that tells you something). Scuba lessons are offered for free at the resort and I recommend taking advantage of them. If you like long walks on the beach, however, this is not the place for you as the beach is not too long (approx 1/4 mile). That said, St. Lucia would not be the place for you at all since most of the beaches are relatively short from what I could tell, with the longest one being the beach at Rendezvous which was only 2 miles long or so. Besides the great beach, the property is beautiful, the food is good, people extremely friendly and helpful, and the spa services are great. Speaking of the spa, you have a treatment included every day with your stay. Fantastic! I would recommend Le Sport mostly for couples. Please leave the kids at home. There were only a few there, thankfully, but you will find that most people come for a romantic holiday. Also, the beach allows topless sunbathing, another reason to leave the kids home. As I said, we had our wedding there, and the staff went out of there way to make it perfect. It was a perfect setting for a small wedding. I'm thinking hard trying to come up with something negative to say, but I can't think of anything. Oh, you may see a cat or two that lives on the property. They stroll around during dinner, but they are harmless and most people seem to like them. I suppose they keep the rodents away at least. One last thing, if you are an American, know you will be in the minority in St. Lucia. We found that most of the visitors were British or Canadians. Not that this is a problem at all, just pointing it out. One recommendation, although tipping is not required or expected, I found that service, especially on the beach improves significantly if you discreetly slip them a tip now and then. A few dollars will go a long way to ensuring you get a drink promptly from the bar or on the beach.
