I visited this wonderful resort over the Easter holidays. I would really recommend it for singles, girlie groups, mothers and daughters and couples. It's a great place to chill out and relax and to sample plenty of activities. I love to keep fit and everyday there were plenty of classes for me to choose from including pilates, body pump, stretching, toning, step aerobics etc. The food is superb, very fresh and lots of seasonal food on offer, one definitely won't go hungry here. My only complaint of the place is that there are quite a few cats loitering around in the many restaurants. Apart from that complaint, I really loved the place and felt rested and rejuvenated after my stay.

We had our wedding at Le Sport on 3/11/08 and loved the place. We actually were originally staying at the sister property, Rendezvous, (which we were VERY disappointed by but that's a whole other review). After spending 4 out of 10 days at Rendezvous, we rented a car and checked out Le Sport and fell in love with it. The staff was very eager to help us and moved us (and our wedding) without issue. We stayed in a remodeled ocean front luxury room right on the first floor. It had a beautiful view of the beach and the room was very nice and I have no complaints to speak of. The beach, unlike most other resorts we saw, was very secluded. All beaches are public in St. Lucia, which is not a big deal during the week, but on the weekend they can get quite crowded. Since Le Sport's beach is harder to get to and more secluded, there was hardly ever any locals there. The beach is also quite beautiful and calm (unlike the beach at Rendezvous which was quite rough with cloudy water). There is also a lovely reef right in front of the beach that offers good snorkeling and scuba. In fact, Sandals brings their guest over to the reef by boat daily (if that tells you something). Scuba lessons are offered for free at the resort and I recommend taking advantage of them. If you like long walks on the beach, however, this is not the place for you as the beach is not too long (approx 1/4 mile). That said, St. Lucia would not be the place for you at all since most of the beaches are relatively short from what I could tell, with the longest one being the beach at Rendezvous which was only 2 miles long or so. Besides the great beach, the property is beautiful, the food is good, people extremely friendly and helpful, and the spa services are great. Speaking of the spa, you have a treatment included every day with your stay. Fantastic! I would recommend Le Sport mostly for couples. Please leave the kids at home. There were only a few there, thankfully, but you will find that most people come for a romantic holiday. Also, the beach allows topless sunbathing, another reason to leave the kids home. As I said, we had our wedding there, and the staff went out of there way to make it perfect. It was a perfect setting for a small wedding. I'm thinking hard trying to come up with something negative to say, but I can't think of anything. Oh, you may see a cat or two that lives on the property. They stroll around during dinner, but they are harmless and most people seem to like them. I suppose they keep the rodents away at least. One last thing, if you are an American, know you will be in the minority in St. Lucia. We found that most of the visitors were British or Canadians. Not that this is a problem at all, just pointing it out. One recommendation, although tipping is not required or expected, I found that service, especially on the beach improves significantly if you discreetly slip them a tip now and then. A few dollars will go a long way to ensuring you get a drink promptly from the bar or on the beach.

there isnt much i can say that hasnt been said already, but me and my fince ha a wonerfull time. first i recommend the helicopter transfer when you arrive so you can really see the island and the taxi ride back, we were lucky that we found a great taxi driver (felix [--]) he showed us great places to take pictures on the way to the airport and brought us to a great place on the road to have lunch.... i miss all the great food already, if you go to castries saturday to shop at the market, make sure you have lunch there and try the local food.
so many things to do at this resort and so little time, i tried scuba and sailing oh and even got a body scrub( not sure why women love it) my love had tennis lessons, golf lessons, and windsurfing lessons. its great to be able to snorkle right from the beach and see so many things.
when your on the beach and need a refill on that banana daquirie just stand up the little flag they give you, some of the best service i have had on all my trips to the carribean. stayed in room 151 and it was nice and clean, not ssure why the maid would never take the tip we would leave on our pillow for her. the food was great at cariblue, tao never lived up to my expectations, sushi is better back home... they have a great deli open during the day for fresh smoothies, salads sandwichs etc,
tried the street party (drunk tourist amusing the locals)
resort seems to be mostly older people, not a party place for the single young people, have fun and i cant wait till i go back again

We booked Le Sport at short notice and after reading the some of the reviews we went with some trepidation. However, we neednt have worried as the whole experience was brilliant and we will definitely be going back. The Oasis Spa is great and just what we needed to unwind. All the staff were really friendly including the reception staff which others have complained about. We got exactly the room we wanted although we would have liked a clock and coffee maker!! We certainly did not miss a TV which we must admit we did worry about. We never swam in any of the pools as the Carribean sea was fantastic to swim in and the beach delightful. The activities are never ending and there is hardly time to use them all should you want. All the restaurants we found to be tasteful and high quality with a complete choice of what we wanted without paying extra. We particularly liked Tao. The only activity which fell short of high quality was the cycling and only because the bikes are greatly in need of service and renewal. Otherwise we had a fabulous time and we would strongly recommend you to pay and take the helicopter flight back to the airport. All the staff were very attentive and all of them knew their jobs well. We look forward to our return! -R & M. Stratford-upon-Avon, UK

“Truly Fantastic!”

I left Le Sport 48 hours ago after my first visit - and the experience was just so fantastic, I have already booked myself another 10 days holiday there in 3 months time! This really was the best holiday I have ever had - and I have had many trips all over the world to compare it with.

I went as a single traveller, and never have I felt so totally relaxed and comfortable (apart from when I checked in - the reception area is very low key and gloomy, and on initially going to my single garden view room, it seemed a bit musty and shabby. Luckily I had one of only 6 of the 29 single rooms with a proper terrace rather than those awful gated french windows).

Within 12 hours though, I know I had made the perfect choice. From the 7am morning walks, delightful breakfast of freshly cut fruit, a small but lovely beach with ample loungers, constant service of water and drinks by the waiters on the beach, great range of fitness activities - and of course the daily spa treatments. Where else can you escape with a wonderful lime and ginger body scrub and massage - then return to sun on the beach, via the Deli for a delicious fresh salad, and a sundown cocktail - taking in one of the many exercise classes throughout the day to counter the champagne and beer (though I would add that the gym could do with some newer equipment. Adequate but not great).

The communal table is a fantastic idea for single travellers, and through this I met some wonderful holiday companions - you never need dine alone at Le Sport. Evening is normally the worst time for singles - not here! Thank you to my dining pals who I met freely throughout the day and added to the overall social experience.

Service could be slow in the Cariblue restaurant, but food and wine generally good quality - and the Tao restaurant is truly superb and you must visit Tao more than once during your stay. A wide mix of guests - from couples, families, all ages (though thankfully no young children) with great staff who seemed genuinely interested to make this an experience like no other.

Whilst the overall cost may initially seem high - the quality and value of what you get is indeed priceless.

Would I recommend Le Sport? Why yes! Especially for 40 something single women like myself! I can truly understand why 60% of the guests are "returners" and I will be amongst that ever growing group when I return in 3 months time.

Thank you Le Sport for a holiday of a lifetime! I will be back, though next time I will spend a little extra on a luxury room rather than a garden view.

PS I like many hate turbulent flights, and it was extremely bumpy on the way back over the Atlantic. Amongst screaming babies and crying children, I just put on my eyeshades, dreamt of being on the massage table - and slept blissfully for hours, only being woken by the smell of breakfast coffee. Never has turbulence felt so relaxed!
