Stayed here for week after carribean cruise. To be fair, room was clean and reasonably spacious. Complex extremely tired, and could not beleive that the "tennis court" actuall had a fee charging proffesional! Public areas were not always clean, but have seen a lot worse.
The main problem, as previously highlighted by other reviewers, was the food. The (all inclusive) A la carte restaurant only allowed for about 35 covers, so unless you were lucky enough to secure a booking, you had to use the buffet restaurant. The food here was (mainly) disgusting. It is fair to say that there are local restaurants, and indeed we did use them. In fact you get a (small) discount from the Royal hotel (a sister hotel), which was excellent, a different planet from the Rex. However, having paid a premium for All Inclusive, it is unfair to critisice clients for expecting decent food. As a couple, we were able to afford to eat outside, but if you had 2 or 3 children, it is likely that you chose the All inclusive to enable budgeting. We ate ONCE in the buffet restaurant in the evening and a couple of times for breakfast.) Omellettes okay, if you didn't mind hanging around to wait.
