We spent a week at the St. Lucian. The staff was very helpful as our luggage made a stop San Juan via AA, and did not show up until the next day.

Weather and beach was great for the first 3 days, a Northerly Swell weather system came in on Wednesday and force us off the beach. Waves 15' hit the beach and resort. We were moved to higher ground, but hotel and maintenance staff were not on the same page as our beach front room was being boarded up while we were still in it. We had to move our luggage ourselves.

Food was plenty full but nothing to write home about. Not as good as other resorts we have spent time in.

Overall we had a good time and enjoyed the resort and company of other vacationers.

My husband and seven year old son and I arrived on 2oth Feb 2008. We were in dire need of a holiday and the St Lucian Rex provided the perfect setting. We took a sea facing room that was perfect for small boy who adores the beach and swimming. He found a beach pal on the first day which was super for him as there were not that many children there. The beach is beautiful and the sea a very plesant temperature. We thoroughly enjoyed sipping a pina colada while watching the sun go down from our terrace most evenings. We loved watching the birds. Seeing my first humming bird was fabulous. Our son thoroughly enjoyed the pirate ship and was amazed to see flying fish. The rooms do need a bit of updating but they are clean and the beds are big. The food was abolutely fine and we were just delighted to not have to cook! The hotel restaurants have to cater for a wide variety of clients and I think they do this well. If you want a wider selection there are loads of great restaurants in Rodney Bay, The restaurant employees could try to be a bit friendlier. They did appear to be in a bit of a daze during our stay, noticed by our son. Yes there are beach traders who can be intrusive. I found humour and firmness the best approach. But I did buy a couple of things for gifts that have delighted the receivers. This was a recharge and family time holiday for us and it certainly did the trick. We do hope, God willing, to return again. We are being constantly pestered to do so by the seven year old!

Stayed at St Lucain By Rex Resorts from 21/02/08 - 06/03/08. This was a second time here, and this time we were getting married at the hotel. I have to say everything was prefect and the staff could not do enough for us. We was upgraded to a beach front room, free of charge and the food,
entertainment were fantastic. We both can't wait to go back for our wedding anniversary, and would recommend it to friends and family.

my friend and I stayed at the st lucian by rex on the 28th feb for one week. we went on our own without our husbands just for a girly trip.
We flew with Virgin which was excellent, plenty of leg room and free drinks all the way.
the transfer from the airport in castries wasnt that good, they had no coaches just small mini buses, and not that well organised.
We had read reviews on trip advisor and were not sure what to expect., but when we got to the hotel we were quite pleased.
we had paid extra for a garden room, and we were in the papillion end. ( the st lucian and the papillion are now all one complex) we had a beatifull view out to the bay .
The room was very clean (bathroom a bit small though) bedding and towels changed daily and lovely and white. beach towels left in our room every day.
There wasnt much variety of food in the restaurant but it was enough for us , The club sandwiches from the grill outside at lunch time were lovely.
The entertainment in the main lobby at night was ok a different band each night playing reggae music.
The beach was lovely, never seen a bit of sea weed at all , and very clean, the view of the boats in the bay was fab.
There were alot of more mature couples on the complex and no children/teenagers it was fabulous.
The pirate ship and the whale/dolphin trips where great.
My friend and i had a wonderful time and didnt want to come home,
I would certainly go back to this hotel again sometime.

Did not enjoy my stay here at all and the staff were in need of training. Our hotel room backed up onto a very busy nightclub which blurted out very, very loud music til 3 am on Fri, Sat and Sun. The only thing to use to drown out the noise was the air con system!! Reduit beach is pretty but spoiled by the local vendors and rather 'forward' local men (not women) that frequented the place. Rodney Bay has plenty of shops but beware the men there too. They will probably harrass your wife if alone. The food was pretty much the same every night and always soggy and luke warm. Entertainment was just about OK at night but the flying cockroaches at night made my wife nervous! I would personally not stay here again. I'd get a hotel with a private beach to avoid the nuisances and get somewhere with better food
