Rendezvous Resort

We knew we wanted our honeymoon in St Lucia but had no idea where to stay. Rendezvous was a leap of faith when we booked. I never dreamed it would be such a perfect pick for us. It is not too small, not too large. How much fun you have is up to you. You can easily arrive and spend your days on beach quietly reading and using second swimming pool for exercise etc. OR you could stay busy every day with all the activities and games. The activities staff is excellent and knew us by first name within two days. They never pressured us to sign up for anything but we loved the opportunities: archery, volleyball, putting, sailing, tennis, waterskiing, tubing, etc. We participated when we wanted and had great fun on sand volleyball court.

Tour reps were available to plan day trips around island. We chose the tranopy rain forest tour and it was fun half day excursion. We met 3 other couples from resort as well. Piano bar is great place to socialize w/other couples. I would recommend you plan a night and pass on the word, then you can sit at piano and have great sing alongs! Otherwise, you can slip in and listen to great music. The Trysting Place has super atmosphere. For visits to Trysting Place you should pack long trousers and close toe shoes for men, dress for ladies (open toe shoes are fine).

I can not say enough about the staff of entire resort. Our beach cottage was clean, simple and provided an incredible view. Cleaning staff just popped in and were gone before we ever knew. In nine days, we never saw them but had a spotless room daily! Sunsets at Rendezvous are magic. Everyone would stop and gather to watch them daily. We made new life friends on our trip. 75% of visitors were British or Irish. The various cultures merged well.

Oh, the spa is their best kept secret! I actually fell asleep during my serenity massage. Enjoy your time at resort but also plan a couple of days to see various parts of island. The taxis that work w/resort are available for day and worth the cost. They can show you the island through their eyes. We plan to return again.

“friendly piece of paradise”

Rendezvous Resort

Myself and my wife stayed at the Rendezvous the middle two weeks in April. We had read various reports before going, and the hotel lived up to its reputation.
We stayed in a luxury oceanfront room, and it was spaceous, and well equipped, the bed is huge and the bathroom has a glass brick wall to allow for natural light, there is a balcony with a hammock to relax on with fine views looking onto the carribean ocean.
The food was varied and plentiful, you won't go hungry there! there are different themes each night. The dining takes place on the terrace mainly for all meals, but in the evening you can book the "Trysting place" which is indoor and air conditioned, a nice change. We ate on the beach one evening very romantic (at extra cost), but worth it!! Overall the food was excellent, and the friendly staff make the occassion even better.
The entertainment team work very hard to make your stay a memorable one, but never pressure anyone to join in if you would rather laze on the beach. The evening entertainment is varied and enjoyable, the team Deano, Gaston, Tamara, Markel, Pauline and Neema are great people, in fact all the staff are very friendly no matter where or what time they meet you they always have a smile, and a hello very refreshing.
The beach is about two miles long and lovely for a walk, or steady jog ( jog the excess food off) the water is typical of the Carribean clear and warm, and safe for swimming. There are plenty of sunbeds, but some typical english guests still put towels on beds at about 7am, and then didn't turn up until between 9 - 10 to lie on them!! The waiting staff will also bring your drinks to you whilst relaxing on the beach, and mid afternoon you also get a refreshing cool towel (another nice touch)
The watersports are brilliant with again plenty of choice, many thanks to Paul of the diving team who helped me discover scuba, and the watersports team who helped me drink plenty of saltwater whilst trying water skiing, and tubing!!
The cleaner Marcia kept our room spotless. Whilst we were there we renewed our marriage vows, and it was a surprise for my wife, the girls in guest relations were great in helping me sort it out, the day was very special thanks to Karen.
This hotel prides itself on the personal touch, and I have to say they have it off to a tee, it was my wife's birthday whilst there and they provided champagne, flowers.
There is a small airport nearby, but only small aircraft, and between 6 - 8 flights daily, there is a graveyard but its about 300 yards away from the hotel, and very inoffensive, and it is a very peaceful place on this paradise island, the beach can get busy at weekends, but it is nice to see the local families enjoying themselves in this beautiful place, and they are generally friendly, there are a few beach sellers, but they don't bother you if you say no thank you!!
A walk up to Vigie lighthouse is worth the effort, there are various trips to many to mention, but the helicopter is spectacular. I would advise the helicopter transfer.
Take US dollars as all prices in the hotel, and most shopping centres are quoted in US dollars.
Overall this holiday was the best we have had, and I would recommend it to my best friend, if you are thinking about getting married and fancy St Lucia then the Rendezvous is well worth considering. We will definately be going back, hopefully with some of our friends.

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks at the Rendezvous Resort. We got married the 2nd week and it was magnificent, I would highly recommend it to everyone. Karen and Sandra sorted everything out and our big day was stress free. All the staff go out of their way to help you especially the 2 I have just mentioned, Pauline, Markel and Deano.

I have seen other reviews where people have moaned about the graveyard and the airport noise. Neither are a problem, you don't get any trouble from the graveyard and the planes are gone in seconds!

Food and drink was fantastic, you could always find something to eat at the buffett. Trysting Place was great too.

We did an island tour with Andy, one of the taxi drivers at the hotel and it was fantastic. We could take in all the sights at our leisure and nothing was too much trouble for him. Would highly recommend it, a bargain at $140US. You get to see the sights such as Marigot Bay, the Pitons, Botanical Gardens, Mt Soufriere and learn lots about the island as Andy is happy to answer any questions you may have.

Spa treatments are fantastic too, I had massages, pedicures and manicures and they are real value for money.

A wonderful holiday, will definately be going back one day for an anniversary.

when we arrived at rendezvous for our 2 week honeymoon we were greeted with a cold towel and a cocktail which was just what we needed after a long trip. so we were off to a good start. we were given a brief talk about the hotel then off we went to the beach for a barbecue while our bags were taken to our room. this gave us a taster of how our next 2 weeks were to be.

it was fantastic. our room was spotless, the gardens were well kept and tidy. the staff were the most friendly and polite i have ever come across. i'm a vegetarian so i am always a little concerned about the food wherever i go. i didn't need to worry. i told the staff at reception that i was vegetarian and thought that would be that but the next thing was that the head chef came down to meet me to find out what i would and wouldn't eat. he also added that if there was ever a time i could't find anything to suit just to let him know and he would come up with something for me - i couldn't have been happier!

we ate at the restaurant the "trysting place" twice. we felt like a king and queen. the staff couldn't do enough for us. then again it was the same story in the buffet restaurant. the staff pulled out chairs, put napkins on your lap, kept you topped up with drinks whether it was water or alcohol everytime you said "thank you" they replied "you're welcome". nothing was too much trouble.

there was entertainment every night and each night the food was a different theme - sunday roast, italian, chinese, tex mex, french, caribbean, etc. breakfast was fruit, yogurt, cereals, danish pastries or cooked.

there was never any problem getting a sun lounger and when you wanted a drink you stuck a flag in the sand and the waiter took your order and brought your drink over.

the hotel is on the beach so it's lovely having your meal or drinks watching the waves.

overall it's definitely the staff that make this resort so special & i don't know how anyone could complain about anything - we can't wait to go back!

My new husband and I have just returned from Rendezvous having enjoyed a wonderful laid back wedding and honeymoon.
The beach, gardens, rooms, restuarants and bars were all just as we'd hoped. We met other couples there but had plenty of space to ourselves. I would certainly recommend this hotel to any other couples for a wedding or blissfully child free holiday.( it leads to such a calm, peaceful atmosphere).
The staff were friendly and helpful and we were touched by the little extras provided. The meals were of a high standard with plenty of choice. A truly relaxing experience.
