“Loved the Auberge Seraphine!”

Auberge Seraphine

I have visited St Lucia frequently but this is the first time I have stayed at this hotel.

The hotel has a very pretty setting and the front of the hotel has Seraphine birds nesting in the trees. A very pretty site. The front looks out over Castries harbour. The coalpot and jacques restaurants are within walking distance. I booked direct via telephone from the UK which was then confirmed by email. Very straightforward.

Room
Excellent, large very clean and a very reasonable price. We booked the deluxe room which had a balcony overlooking the harbour.

Pool.
Clean and well looked after. Nice bonus.

Dinner.
Very good and reasonably priced. Simple fresh food cooked with attention. The rum punches were excellent. Nicely spiced and not too sweet.

Breakfast
Auberge Seraphine scored very high points for this. Freshly cooked and prompt service (thanks Lucretia!).

Friendly atmosphere with locals including business people, tourists etc. Nice mix and more natural than at a resort hotel. A very good nights stay and a good introduction to St Lucia and Lucians.

Camille the manager takes great care with this hotel and it shows. I am not sure I would stay there for one week or longer as I prefer to be near a beach but for a 1-3 day stay in order to explore Castries and the nearby areas.

This hotel has all of the good points mentioned in the other reviews. It is clean, has a wonderful view, is easily accessible to Castries, Pointe Seraphine and 2 good restaurants, has superb sunsets and a friendly staff with one exception. The place is tastefully decorated. The balcony was very well thought out with an overhanging roof that protected us from rainstorms and the hot afternoon sun.

My wife had some items stolen from her room the day before we left. It had to be an inside job, someone who works at the hotel. The culprit was never caught. Camille, the owner's daughter, was very supportive but we still didn"t get our things back.

The hotel itself is quiet and peaceful. BUT, be advised that many party boats come and go from Vigie Cove right in front of the hotel. The high decibel noise from their "music" can be disturbing at times. Music from Pointe Seraphine, designed to entertain the cruise ship passengers there, is quite loud and can last all day. These things are beyond the control of the hotel but they do affect a holiday there. Also, people who live in the area sometimes start fires and the smoke can bother those of us who have respiratory problems.

The food in the restaurant is good. The front desk staff was quite helpful. Especially Camille. Our room was big with a good-sized bathroom and a bar fridge and coffee-maker. My wife loved the pool. The parking is limited if you rent a car as we did.

This could be a fabulous place if it were quieter and without the threat of theft from one's room.

The location is excellent!! It's a nice average hotel overlooking a small marina. The rooms are appointed as per the usual setting.

We felt secure and comfortable. No fuss, or anxiety, but we must note that this was also translated in the restaurant service. On almost ever occasion dishes were brought to the table more than 1/2 hour after ordering. Only breakfast would not fall into this category (it took about 15 minutes) and we suspect that it was because we were the second ones in the dining room (it was 7:45). However, even in cases where there were not very many guests in the restaurants the service was terribly slow. Our dinner took just over 45 minutes to be served and we were so tired from a packed day that we started falling asleep at the table. Furthermore, we sat at our table for more than 15 minutes before we were acknowledged and offered a menu. We must note though that this seems to be the trend on the island, as we had similar experiences at a small restaurant in Castries and another in Marigot Bay. It was not our first time to the island and we could not help but notice that this was the common thread almost everywhere we went. Nevertheless, I suppose it only became an issue whenever we were really, really hungry or tired. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Auberge Seraphine - the atmosphere is simple and relaxing and the rooms are clean and comfortable, a really nice place for two or three friends just hanging out, or a young couple on a weekend get-away. So, we'll be back. Also, we must add that overall the employees were courteous, especially Cora.

I stayed at Auberge Seraphine in June. I was on a business trip. I found the hotel to be clean and nice. The staff were very friendly and the view was awesome. I really enjoyed my stay and would return there for a vacation. The food and drinks at the restaurant were also quite nice.

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Auberge Seraphine. The atmosphere is slow-paced and very relaxing. We loved the bartender fellows and found the staff was very accomodating. We will return soon!
