“Consol Tours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

Had a day in St Lucia off cruise and hired Consol Tours who were the best I highly recommend them - decent van amusing and knowledgeable driver/tour guide who took us to a banana plantation where we tasted most delicious banana stopped for home made breakfast buffet and on to rain forest volcano and boat trip to a delightful cove where we could swim/snorkel/relax and off again motoring round the island and stopping for a picnic of hot bread and cheese. Amazing!

“A Day in St Lucia with Bumpy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

My parents toured with Cosol in November and we took the same tour a month later based on their recommendation. We were not disappointed. They were a little disappointed in their guide as he was on the phone most of their trip but we were pleasantly surprised with the charisma and knowledge and willingness to share and answer questions by our guide Bumpy. It was a full day of winding roads, gorgeous landscape, picturesque photo stops, smelly volcanoes, refreshing waterfalls, relaxing beaches and some of the most delicious local snacks we'd ever tried. You get your money's worth just in food and drinks. They're in abundance all day! Definitely take this tour and ask for Bumpy!!

“Great tour - Feel the real St Lucia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

Our group took the Cosol tour based on the wonderful things we had read on TA and also Cruisecritic. Since we had to tender in from our ship (Queen Mary 2) we didn't get into the port until about 9:15. We had noted that we'd probably be "late" in emails to Cosol prior to our arrival and he reassured us that "I will be waiting when you arrive" and he was! We were unsure as we arrived where to meet the tourguide. Everyone we asked knew Cosol and were very helpful in guiding us all the way through the terminal and out to the street where our guide was waiting.

As many others have mentioned, our guide was Yellowbird, who is Cosol's brother. He was a jovial and well-informed fellow. Any question about the island was answered with a great depth of knowledge. Check out the Cosol website for the rundown of all the things you'll see. It's very accurate. Also the photos posted here on TA are like a complete rundown of all the wonderful things we saw.

The highlights? For me it was snorkeling at Jalousie Beach (aka Sugar Beach) between the Petons. The view on the trip over in a tiny boat was awesome and the hundreds (thousands?) of fish that we swam with in the water made this very memorable.

Depending on who is in your tour and how long you want to stay at each place will greatly affect the length of the tour. We started around 9:45 or so and were back to the ship by 4:00. The trip could have easily taken an extra hour or more, but we didn't stop to touch a boa constrictor, we didn't take a mud bath, we only stayed at the waterfall for about 5 minutes as it had started raining and we did a very brief stop at the "drive-in volcano" (all by the choice of our group.) Had we known that we'd be back early, we would have asked to stay more than the one hour that we were at the beach.

Something that made me feel very good about this tour is the number of local businesses that Cosol supports during the tour. We stopped at several little shops (at places with photo-worthy views) and we took the local boat to the beach and we sampled (and bought) local rum and local cooking sauces and of course we bought and devoured the famous local bread and cheese and had lunch in the backyard of someone's house. All of that was helping to spread around the money that we tourists bring to the island, rather than the tour just taking our money for themselves. It was clear that Cosol loves St Lucia and is doing his part to help the people of the island.

I would highly recommend this tour if you want to get a feel of the real St Lucia.

“Awesome way to spend the day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

We got off the cruise ship and Cosol saw my husband and I looking around and he came up and introduced himself and was kind enough to let us join in on his day tour! We rode with Yellow Bird and he was sooo nice and he was well informed about everything on the island! He was sure to let the craft sellers know when they were being too pushy and we always felt comforable! They really have a great team and great business! We did a similar tour through a cruise ship two years ago and paid double the price for way less. I cannot believe everything that we were able to do for that great price! Thanks for a great time!! Keep up the great work!

“Fun Tour w/ Yellowbird”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

It was suggested by our travel agent that we take the Cosol Tour instead of going with the overpriced cruise ship tour. We never regretted this option. Great value and a very fun day! We visited a secluded beach (Jalousie) between the pitons (mountains) and swam there; saw flora and fauna; ate tons of good local food - substantial, tasty, and sweets (too long a list to mention and ALL included); toured the town and countryside with many interesting sights and landmarks; visited a banana plantation; had a dip under a waterfall; sulphur springs and mudbaths; Marigot Bay; Soufriere; water taxi ride; and more. What a fun-filled and enjoyable day. Rich with local culture and entertaining. Not to be missed! They even made sure to get us back to the cruise ship on time.
