In August of 2008, my wife and I went to St. Lucia for our 25 wedding anniversary. We stayed at Sandals. I wanted to see the Island but am not a big fan of organized tours. When I have seen a waterfall for 10 minutes, I’m good. However, on the organized tour you might be stuck there for an hour or more. Photo ops for your entire group can be agonizing. However, sometimes the group tours are all that are available.

As I do with all vacations, I researched this trip thoroughly. I found Fabiantours.com through Tripadvisors.com. I communicated with Fabian via email regarding my desires and his suggestions. Based on his professionalism and prompt responses to my emails, I booked a day with him for my wife and myself.

As our day unfolded, I immediately knew I made a great decision in booking Fabian. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and most importantly for us, flexible. We went at our pace and saw everything we wanted to see, which by the way, was everything. It was fantastic and I am not that easily impressed.

To end our day, Fabian took us to a small store on a very scenic hilltop where we sampled a locally made deluxe version of a spiced rum. It was so good that we bought several bottles which were finished before our trip to St. Lucia was over. I have since gone on line to try to find it but have been unsuccessful.

In closing, DEFINITELY book with Fabian. He was GREAT and make sure he gets you some homemade spiced rum.

We just returned from our honeymoon to St. Lucia and after being back a day my wife and I are already looking into when we can go back. St. Lucia is the greatest place I have ever been! If we could we probably would move there, such a relaxing peacfull place and the food was amazing. Every meal we had on the island was superb, I have never had vegtables and fish as good as what you will find in St. Lucia. They do not use fertalizers on their crops, which makes their vegtables taste much better than anything you will find in the US.

We stayed at the Butterfly Beach House just outside the Castries, it is located right down the road from the Sandals Regency. The beach house was amazing, it had 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (we used one bedroom and two bathrooms the whole week so think the house keeper was happy with us;) and a full size kitchen and dining room. We had our own full size pool and it was a 2 minute walk to the beach. We had a choeffer we called anytime we needed to go anywhere and a house attendant that came twice a day to make sure we had everything we needed. The owner of the house Alice Bagshaw, is one of the most interesting and sweetest ladies you will ever come across, she made us feel right at home and was always available for anything we needed from her.

We stayed busy most of the week with excursions first day we were there we went on an all day sailing tour of the island, the yacht stopped at a drive in volcano, botanical garden, and some waterfalls, and then docked at a hot spot for snorkling so we did some snorkeling.

Our next exursion was to climb the Pitons (two huge mountains 3000 feet hike). Yeah the climb about killed us it was so hard, took 5 hours round trip but we made it and once we got to the top the views were well worth it. We did ziplining through the rain forest, that was probably my favorite excursion, got to do 20 zips from tree to tree going about 30 mph flying the air hard to describe the sensation but a must do for sure. After ziplining we went and saw another waterfall that was in the middle of the rain forest.

We had a private sunset cruise on a yacht, got on the boat they had two bottels of champain for us and a tray of cheese and crackers and some fresh fruit and we just sailed through caribean having the whole boat to ourself (other than the captain)it was very relaxing. Our last excursion was a two hour horse back riding session on the beach. We road the horse probalby for an hour down a trail that lead us to the beach, I was thinking we just road the horse on the shore, but nope our guides lead the horse into the ocean, so literally was riding a horse in the middle of the ocean water up to the horses neck, it was pretty cool but somewhat scary at the same time.

There is so much more to tell but that is a pretty good summary of our week, highly recommend going to St. Lucia at least once, it is a different world and the most relaxing place I have ever been to, their motto on the island is "No preassure, no problems, and seems the entire island lives by that motto.

We were recently on a cruise and had booked a tour through Fabian Tours while in St. Lucia. What a fantastic day! As others will tell you in their reviews this tour is well worth the money. The banana field, coconut stops, the bakery, etc. The vehicles are new and very clean. Our driver was Curtis. He was very proud of his Island and his only goal was for you to love it as much as he did. He was very easy to talk to and had great sense of humour. My husband is an amateur photographer and Curtis was more than happy to take us to the best spots to snap pictures. The tour of the Island was approx. 7 hours, so a whole days experience and well worth the $45.00. We will definitely go back to St. Lucia and definitely hook up with Fabian Tours while we are there. How many tours do you go on where you hug the tour guide when it is over? This is a definite must do!

We would like to say a few words about the island of St Lucia. We travel quite a lot and this is the first time we have ever felt strongly enough to let people know how the island is heading. It is just like Jamaica, pretty, sunny, stunning beaches, fantastic sunsets, great golf, lots of natural beauty and wildlife and a whole lot more. This is what reminded us of Jamaica, we were asked by the staff for cigarettes and drinks from the bar, but we are more concerned with security (or should we say) the lack of it and the 'do's and dont's of where to go. Please be aware that tourists are very vunerable at the moment and if you would like to know about our first hand experience we will answer any of your questions.

We took a day trip with Joy’s Cruises and had a fabulous time. We made our way down the island with a tour of Marigot Bay then stopped at Soufriere to hop into a mini bus taxi to see some water falls and the volcano. Then it was of to a beach barbeque which provided much better food than the resort. After eating we carried on to a bay between the Pitons and snorkelled at a marine reserve. This was the highlight of my trip! Then it was back into the boat for the trip home. No one felt seasick on this trip and the driver slowed down when people started to take photos. If you like adventure sit in the bow if there are big swells. If you like getting splashed sit in the back corners. If you like calm and dry it’s the middle for you. We felt quite safe the whole time. Phil drove the boat and gave a running commentary for the whole trip. Ashley was the deck hand and was a big help to a family with small children and a pregnant mom. Joy charged $80 US each for the 3 adults and my son went for free. That includes everything. Great fun and great value for the money. I recommend Joys Cruises. You can find him under the Almond Tree near the Pier at Almond Morgan Bay Resort. His phone # is [--]
