One of our cruise ship ports was in St. Lucia, and after reading the good reviews of this beach we decided to give it a shot. We jumped in a cab and were brought to a beach club resort. The resort seemed nice enough and we were lead out to the beach. Once on the beach we were immediately bombarded with several different guys introducing themselves - one guy was 'the beer guy' then 'the jetski guy' etc. etc.
They lead us down to what seemed like the only option for umbrellas and chairs, had us sit down and then told us it would be $20. Also, a bucket of 6 beers and ice is $20. Kinda pricey compared to the other islands. I didn't mind paying it since we would be there all day but it just seemed like we had no other choice. Then throughout the day, almost every five minutes there was another vendor asking us to buy random, useless stuff. It got old very quick.
I really tried to enjoy this place because the beach and bay is truly gorgeous, but unfortunately the vendors ruined it for us. This was our least favorite stop on the ship.
