We have just returned from 2 weeks at Ginger Cottage at Marigot Bay. Marigot Bay is a very peaceful quiet place to relax for a vacation, however nic you are a beach person this may not be the location for you. The small beach is not verybsandy, there is only a very small area thar isn't gravel. Also if you don't rent a car you are basically hostage to the one grocery store, and 6 restaurants. We had not planned on cooking any dinners, but doing breakfast and lunch in our cottage. We ate most dinners at Chateau Mygo, Doolittles, and the Hurricane Hole. Ate one dinner at JD's and were so suspicious of the odd tasting "chicken" we never returned. We planned on our last dinner at the Rainforest Hdeaway, but the little boat ferry refused to take us there as we had not made reservations.
Things are very expensive, our first meal of 2 burgers with fries, and 2 glasses of wine was over $100 USD.
Taxi costs are prohibitive to go very far.
Luckily we wanted a relaxing vacation, but 14 days was too much there. Had I done more research I would have chosen 7 days at Marigot Bay and 7 elsewhere on the island.
