I have been here and it was amazing! We had a villa with our own pool and great views of the ocean. The property was beautiful, the room was nicely decorated and the staff was very accommodating. When we checked in we had a nice gift waiting for us in the room, a full size bottle of Hermes perfume. My favorite!!

Around St. Barth's was fun. We went in the spring so it wasn't to crowded when we were there. The nightlife and restaurants were great and so was the music.

I miss the vanilla rum they put on your table. The next time I go, I am going to take a small group of friends and kick back. It was an easy trip from Fort Lauderdale.

I would definitely go back here again, the sooner the better. My experience with this hotel great and I have recommended it to many of my friends.

“class act”

Being in the hotel business ourselves, my husband and I are always staying at numerous hotels around the world to experience, to make our own reviews and mostly to find a 'marvel' ,a hotel that stands above the rest. Rarely do we 'marvel' as we did at Hotel Guanahani.

From pickup at the airport, concierge services, check in to check out our experience was one of flawless, excellance and sincere service. The 'attention to detail' was very apparent. Having worked and travelled around the Carribbean I am
delighted to report that you can have 'tranquil rest and relaxation', exquisite gastronomical experience and be treated like royalty in the Carribbean and Hotel Guanahani over-exceeded our expectations. Truly Five star service and a class act all around!!Bravo to Mr.Theze and his fine staff.

And ...a few honorable mention for the other places we visited.
Eden Rock...spectacular views, attentive service and truly incredible food. We tend to try a new restaurant and hotel everytime we travel but EDEN ROCK's restaurant will be our 'repeat performance' definitely... The only other restaurant in the Caribbean that serves such a gastromical fare is the 3 star Michelin chef at Michel Rostang restaurant at the Malliouhana in Anguilla.!!
Le Toiny: Great views and a shining example and advertisement to Relais Chateau excellance. Exceptional service and food.
Francois Plantation: What a revelation, you can actually listen to the silence there. ..the pride and quest for excellance shows!!
Do Brazil: A fab restaurant with a creative incredible menu that made me remark 'why would the couple next to us order a burger when you have the best crab salad and tuna tartar on the island!

So if you want a truly memorable vacation go to St.Barths, stay at the Hotel Guanahani, definitely eat at Eden Rock, make a goal to have a bikini body like the ladies who tan, rent a car and drive and try and forget tommorrow is back to work time!

I stayed at the guanahani resort for honeymoon, it is very expensive and high class, just like the entire island, and generally suited for an upper class french clientele
The hotel is a few rows of bungalows with beautifull gardens and a beach
The pool and patio is very pretty, the style and staff is pleasing.
I will always rememeber the exquisite taste of the breakfasts arriving to our room, esp the OJ and croissants. I like St Barts island, it is so relaxing, the food is amazing, but it seems other islands like Aruba offer more what seems to be the paradise for me, namely white sand beaches with blue-green waters. Beaches of St Bart are small bays and water is not as greenish as Hawaii or Bora Bora. I enjoyed my room with beautifull deco and relaxing private patio
In terms of negative commentaries my room did not technically have a view for the high price I paid (some other rooms had view), it was not possible to see the water from the window (unless escalading on a chair) due to surrouding vegetation. Then there's this rock structure near the hotel and some seeweeds that make the views less pretty. Finally mosquitoes were attacking in the wooden lobby
Conclusion: try this hotel, but if you want a dream beach and see that from the room then I'd choose another resort.

We stayed at the Guanahani for the first half of our honeymoon in November. It was simply amazing. The decision on where to stay came down to the Guanahani, Eden Rock & Ilse de France. Although, Eden Rock seemed to be a wonderful hotel, it is adjacent to a busy street. IDF, gives priority to previous guests, so we didn't feel like waiting to see if a room was available during our travels.

On the recommendation of others, we used Premium IV service. Who said traveling to St. Barth's was difficult? It was worth every cent. A hotel employee was waiting at the airport to transport us. In the van he quickly offered us Evians and Bulguri face towels. When we arrived, we were seated at a desk and a women took down our travel itinerary to confirm the rest of our travel arrangements. After that we were brought to our room: a one bedroom suite w/ a Jacuzzi.

In the room there were all kinds of wonderful gifts for us and a bottle of champagne. The room had everything and more. All the toiletries were by Bulguri & suntan lotions by Linge St. Barths. Additional products ( bug sprays, candles for the patio, etc where all tucked neatly away) Fresh flowers everywhere. Two tvs, dvd, stereo. Free WiFi. etc. etc. etc.

This hotel provided any and every service you could think of & at the drop of a hat. Also, the best part was there were no additional fees attached to anything. Tennis court time, racquets, water sport equipment all there and available for use. At the beach, an attendent quickly brought over pads for the chairs & towls.

Every morning the hotel offered a fabulous complementary breakfast. The most amazing french pastries, breads, juices, omelettes, pancakes. While we were there, the hotel's annual "Food Festival" was taking place. The FF offers guests a complementary dinner nightly at the Bartomeleo ( or Indigo) with the meals being created with the help of Plaza Athinee's top chef. We had all intentions of maybe just eating there one or two nights ( of course to try all of the other restaurants). However, it was so amazing that we ended up eating there every night. The Somlier had the most amazing wine selections to pair with the dinner entrees. It was a delight.

For drinks, etc. we stopped at the mini-mart down the road daily. Room Service was great at bringing over ice at the drop of a hat.

We did try lunch at different places around the island. The only place I was dissapointed in was Wall House.

In terms of other guests, all adults in all different ages groups. Did see several singles too.

If we could change one thing, it would be the amount of seaweed on the beach. It is a protected environment in the Cul de Sac, so they can't remove any of the seaweed, etc.

This is truly an amazing place that truly exceeded all expectations.

My boyfriend and I just returned from a 6 night stay at GH and found it most enjoyable and relaxing. This place is great for the views and for relaxing, so if you don't expect an ultraluxurious resort with impeccable grounds, you will be more than satisfied. We loved the cottage (spacious, clean and vibrantly decorated) and the views. The beach was fine...beautiful but not fully useful, the water is not deep, but it is a protected environment so the seaweed that an earlier reviewer mentioned is just a natural thing and we did not find it to be too bothersome. The resort rakes the beach often so sand is kept clean. GH offers plenty of water sports and the depth of the water doesn't prohibit those. Apparently Grand Cul de Sac is THE place to kite surf and that was enjoyable to watch. Both restaurants were open during our visit and we enjoyed Bartolomeo...only eating at Indigo for breakfast or lunch, while sunbathing, so not expecting anything spectacular. Also, the hotel has a promotion going on right now that includes dinner at Bartolomeo for FREE each night. We took advantage of it only one night b/c we wanted to try the other restaurants on the island. But, we did stop in for dessert. If you want to stay at a resort on the beach, you have few options in St. Barts. I would try Isle de France next time we go, but wouldn't rule out GH. If you stay at GH, stop by Le Toiny which is just a bit further up the road. Their restaurant, Le Gaiac, is phenomenal.
