“Private Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2012 via mobile

After staying at the ritz in San Juan, we took a private 5 person plane to St. Barths. We had a week long stay booked at the Guanahani. Upon arrival at the airport, we were greeted by the driver of the hotel who nicely helped us with our bags and loading the car. After a 10 minute drive, we arrived at the beautiful hotel. Some of the reviews on here say that it's a ghost town..but it's not. It's just a peaceful, closed off resort. The front desk Is nice, the views are great, the rooms are awesome, and the whole resort is just such a nice change from the all go life style that everybody lives. Expect perfection and nothing less.

“so amazing....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

Hello all, travelling poodle is back at it writing another review! This hotel is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. The gorgeous and curteous "Sylvan" shuttled my husband and me an easy 15 minute drive to this perfect location for a hotel. Tibo and Carole at the reception area were eager to please and very accomodating. Tibo offered us champagne and water upon arrival, explained the package we had selected, and answered any questions we had. The room was very nice, and well appointed with Clarins products. Well done.
Carole at the restaurant Indigo was indeed the most lovely, beautiful and entusiastic employee by far. Exceptional service and personality are her strong suits!!!
The beach is okay, my suggestion is to rent a car and drive around to a few other nice beaches that aren't terribly far. Guanahani's beach is fine, but there are also some lovely ones out there as well.
I feel that this is the best hotel to stay at on the island after visiting a few others during my stay.
Oh, by the way, everyone here is gorgeous. Just lettin' you know....

“La de dah..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

St. Barth is not a place to visit if you are counting your pennies... the entire island is expensive but worth the cost..There is nothing wrong with Hotel Guanahani! I wish we could live in this hotel..The staff, design (complements to the GM for his taste) and unbelievable suites conger the word "CHIC" to describe the experience.. We loved everything about our stay including the 10 minute flight from St. Marten (I was afraid of getting sea sick) which only added to our Jet set overnight trip experience.
This is where you want to stay when traveling to St. Barth... splurge.. you will be happy you did..forget your budget and enjoy the island..there is no where like it..so much to do if you need activity. I loved being on the lounges and relaxing in the sun...Rooms are beautiful colors with mirrors strategically placed to capture the ocean views..
Best regards to the very attractive and professional staff .. they must all pass a beauty contest to work there!

“Great hotel; Staff need a little help”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

I love love love the Guanahani! We went there for our honeymoon and it was beautiful! It is far from everything, but the island is tiny and you can rent a car, which I would say is a must! They are the only place with stand up surf boards and kayaks for use for free on the island! They are private. We were in a suite cottage house thing, so I am sure that made everything better. I would just like to be closer to the water next time.
The staff are hit and miss. The room service did always take forever. There were a couple outstanding staff members, but most could care less and act like they are on vacation as well.
It was very private and gorgeous. Worth the money! Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Make sure you get a suite with an ocean view.

“Outstanding stay at Guanahani”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2012

Everything about Le Guanahani was perfect. We were greeted by Matts at the airport. He was wonderful. From there, we were met by Jean Baptiste at the Main House. He could not have been more accommodating, offering us a glass of cold champagne upon arrival. We were upgraded to a bungalow right on the beach that was so tastefully appointed and unbelievably convenient to everything. We were literally 30 steps to L'Indigo, a lovely restaurant situated poolside and overlooking the beach and ocean. The included full breakfast buffet at L'Indigo each morning was nothing short of wonderful. We were also literally 30 steps to the incredibly comfortable beach chairs on the sand. The staff at Le Guanahani knows how to take care of its guests in an unassuming, "quiet" way. They know exactly how to make you feel comfortable without being over the top. We also dined at Guanahani's other restaurant, "Bart'o" which was equally outstanding. This was our first "real trip" to St. Barts, having been there for only one day on a cruise previously. We cannot wait to go back and we will stay at Guanahani because we were perfectly content there. There is nothing I could say that should have been better or different.

Room Tip: There are three great rooms close to the beach...48, 49 and 50.
