“The Best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

I have been to many great places, but the people and the ambience of Tom Beach made this my best holiday ever. Many thanks to Tebow, Greg, Sabrina, David and the rest for such a great experience. See you next year!

Just finished up a perfect week in St. Barth's and the amazing Tom Beach Hotel was a big part of the experience. The accomodations are great, just the right balance of casual beach property and chic, trendy boutique. The location is convenient, close to St. Jean restaurants, supermarket, coffee shop, etc. While we definitely enjoyed checking out the beaches off property, you could easily spend your whole vacation (or life) sitting at the Pink Parrot beach bar or on your lounge chair (guaranteed for hotel guests) looking at the perfect water, having a rum punch and watching the planes take off. One of the key intangibles that made this place so great was the staff--everyone from the concierge and front desk team to the bar and restaurant staff is friendly, fun and helpful. When we next make it to St. Barth's from NYC, this is where we'll stay!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 3 which had a very big garden patio and was particularly spacious. We requested a...

I have stayed in villas and many other hotels, but this is my favorite! The location is great and I like that its a destination for locals which makes it so much more fun! Sometime ago I rented the entire hotel for my birthday, it was just great. Can't wait to do it again.

My husband and I stayed for a week and had a great time. The standout feature was the service. After just one day the staff remember your names and what you like to drink. Special thanks to Meddy and Greg for great service!

Restaurant: Each dinner that we had there was delicious and beautifully presented, they have an excellent chef. However, the dinner menu didn't have much by way of a quick sandwich or more simple meal, so you can go elsewhere for that.

Rooms: The rooms were large and lovely, though there is not much seating other than the bed if for some reason you are spending a great deal of time in your room. There is seating on your attached lovely terrace but it's rather upright and not for lounging--great for morning coffee though! The bed was comfortable by European standards, meaning it was slightly firmer than most American beds.

The Beach: You really are in the center of all the action, and the hotel is RIGHT on the beach. The crowd is mostly younger (thirties to forties) and while there's a very fun party atmosphere, it's not "girls gone wild". We did see some families with small children, though in my opinion, St. Barth's isn't the best island for family fun. I think of it as more of an adult playground.

The Island: Definitely for the well-heeled. Fabulous shopping. I recommend the smaller local shops, as you can buy Vuitton and Hermes in any big city. Check out Delfina for the best Italian bathing suits ever! I bought three!

Do rent a car, you need one to get around. The island is beautiful and with the mountains, the views are superb.

Feel free to email me with any specific questions.

My husband and I recently stayed here on our honeymoon for six nights and loved it. (Originally we were supposed to stay for four, but loved St. Barth so much we extended!)

Hotel - all it in it is a lovely little hotel. It is small, maybe 12 rooms?! But the rooms all feel private and somewhat secluded with the private patios, foliage between rooms and individual porches. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating - we received emails from Guillaume perhaps a month or so before we arrived telling us about how beautiful St. Barths is, and making arrangements for ferry pick-up. All the staff at the front desk was very helpful and charming - restaurant reviews, help booking flights, extending a stay - we were somewhat high maintenance and they made everything seem like no problem.

The rooms are nice - good size and have a good vibe. They seem like they were a little dated which they tried to update with some modern furniture and art, but it works. Only complaint was our bed - we had a kind bed, and the mattress seemed to be two twin-size pallets pushed together. Of course when sleeping they got separated creating a divet.

Location is spectacular. St. Jean beach is gorgeous, and there is a lot going on. The hotel itself is a bit of a hotspot, as the restaurant La Plage is a very popular place for a chic beach lunch. We ate breakfast daily at the restaurant (included in fee) which was limited in offering, but good. We had paninis and cocktails almost daily while laying out on the beach, which were all good, and all the beach boys were very accommodating. We never did eat lunch in the restaurant, which we will do when we come back. We did have dinner on Sunday night - not their normal menu but "lo lo de luxe" night (island BBQ) - everything was very good.

Also - we rented a car and parking at the hotel wasn't an issue. There is a (very small) garage that you can park in, or a lot just down the street. Location-wise, it's about three minutes to Gustavia, and then very close to go to any of the other beautiful beaches - Salines, Gouverneur, etc. St. Barth itself is pretty small, so its all pretty easy.

We would definitely stay here again for sure - the location and the staff cannot be beat. And of course, St. Barth is just so beautiful!!

Tom Beach was the best week my wife and myself have ever spent on vaction. The rooms were perfect size, great bathrooms, and outside private patio. We loved the convenience to the beach, as good a resturant on St Barts and fantastic staff.

Would reccomend to anyone who enjoys the beach.

Room Tip: Asdk for private patio
