“Never a disappointment!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

Our 5th visit to Tom Beach and we are always very pleased. The staff is both professional and very friendly. From the moment Guillaume and Marie greet you at reception, to the moment you meet the rest of the staff, you'll never find anything less than warmth. Clean rooms, nicely appointed and maintained. The location, on Baie de St. Jean, is absolutely perfect. Within walking distance to St. Jean's shops and restaurants, or to the shops/grocery stores near the airport. Gustavia is a mere five minute drive.

Tom Beach's restaurant, La Plage, has marvelous food (the sole meuniere is to die for, as is the tarte tatin de mangue!) and the waiters are warm, attentive and just a lot of fun. The location, on the beach, couldn't be better. Watching the planes take off and land is always worth watching (and filming).

Breakfast, once croissants and coffee, has been completely revamped and now offers a great buffett including scrambled eggs & bacon, crepes & waffles, pastries and fresh exotic fruits. Fresh squeezed orange or grapefruit juice is a topper. And the young lady who serves is an attentive and warm who seemingly was born with a smile on her face. Just a great asset to the hotel.

When in St. Barths, you could pay more, but you wouldn't be guaranteed to get any better than Tom Beach! - John and Martine (Herndon, Virginia, USA)

If you like the feeling of luxurious comfort, in an intimate setting, all while feeling the velvety white sand and cool ocean bubbles between your toes, then Tom Beach Hotel is the place for you. We arrived at night via ferry from St. Maarten while on our honeymoon. My husband called ahead to arrange travel accommodations from the ferry to the hotel as we have never been to this amazing island. Tom Beach was the first sign we saw. Sebastian, our driver was awaiting our arrival and could have been more knowledgeable and welcoming. As you walk into this hotel it is literally a boutique of artwork. It is modern and sexy without being too over the top. Any request we had throughout our stay was delivered in an instant. The entire staff is friendly, outgoing, accommodating in every way and made our honeymoon that much more special. As we arrived the first night after a full day of travel, their restaurant Le Plague was hosting a beach bbq. Not what we initially had in mind but the food was amazing. Every morsel of food we had on our entire trip was delicious and we are total foodies. The rooms are clean, private, comfortable and beautiful. I could literally go on and on. The only thing we wish is that we had more time there. We cannot wait to return!

The location is wonderful! I loved the relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. The room was nice and comfortable. I love being steps from the beach. Great food and drinks available all day at La Plage beach restaurant. Having a beach chaise available to you all day is a nice perk, as well as always having a parking spot available in the garage underneath. I would definitely recommend the Friday night beach party at La Plage.

Room Tip: I booked a standard room not having stayed here before and was very pleased. Loved it! It was a go...

I visited St Barths many years ago. Like the rest of the Caribbean much more busy than before. Too many cars. Very practical and friendly hotel. Close to everything that you might need. The staff couldnt have been more helpful both in the restaurant and the Hotel itself. The rooms fine but not the best We have seen in Boutique hotels in the WI. Life/beach/airport/Gustavia/supermarket, all very close. It would not suit an elderly couple looking for a very quite hideaway but one does ones homework. Only negative more mozzies than any other island. Not the Hotels fault. St Baths has grown too much and the sewage systems are at their limit. India Oberoi Hotel chain could teach them a thing or two about dealing with mozzies. Overall wonderful experience and child friendly. Would return at the drop of a hat.

Room Tip: Obviously the ones closer to the beach are better. The ones closer to the front of the Hotel nearer...

Wonderful location and the rooms have recently been renovated and are beautiful. The best part, however, was the staff! The staff of the hotel and of the attached beach restaurant/bar (La Plage) were equally friendly and enthusiastic. We will be back again soon!

Very friendly & competent staff provide for an excellent start to a relaxing stay by the beach. Tom Beach Hotel is superbly located on St Jean Beach. I had booked a beach facing room with balcony overlooking the bay. Good size room, comfy bed and clean.

Beach bar and cafe / restaurant at the hotel means that everything is provided.

This hotel is relaxed and understated without the uncomfortable glitz & pretentious attitude that may be found in other beach front hotels nearby.

We just returned from a week long stay at TOM BEACH HOTEL and found it to be the finest location on the island. We have been to St. Bart's many, many times staying in everything from 5 star hotels to villas, and agree that our stay at TOM BEACH had just the right mix of serenity, action, ambience, beauty, and french chic. The attitude was free and relaxed without being stuffy! The rooms were comfortable and the beach was supreme - St. Jean beach is just magnificent. The hotel is near the airport, shopping, and close to Gustavia which is a plus.....The staff was friendly, helpful, responsive, and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back very soon!!
