“Great boutique”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

My girlfriend and I travel very frequently for business and pleasure and we had a great experience at Tom's Beach Hotel. The staff were very attentive to us from the moment we arrived until when we left. Guillaume, in particuliar, is a great conceirge who brings a level of service and desire to help that rivals many large 5 star hotels - where he has worked (but with a very warm/friendly approach). The hotel is on a great beach, the rooms are very nice and provide their own retreat and the daily atmopshere down in their restaurant is really wonderful - very relaxed each morning with an unbelieveable view and very chill in the evenings with great music and clientel. Tom Beach provides a great a base for exploring/enjoying St. Barts. We'll definitely be back there.

Room Tip: The garden rooms are perfectly fine, ocean view really isn't needed for this hotel as the beach...

Lots of positive things to say about this small hotel! We are New York fashion designers who needed a getaway but were not looking for a "scene" as we had to do some work while on vacation :( If you are looking for pretense and snobbery, this is not the place for you.

The big highlight for us was the exceptional service and couldn't be beat by any 5 star in a world capital city. Daniella and Guillame went over and above the usual standards of service, never intrusive, highly service oriented, always available to improve our stay etc. Regarding accomodations: I highly recommend the beachview room as it is spacious and private. Rest of this small hotel is quite small as is the footprint of the property itself. Music was especially good and not at all intrusive. Beach bar breakfast was adequate with the ambience and cheery service adding a lot to this hotel.

5 star experience. Ideal location, top notch staff, mouth watering cuisine and exceptional service. Rooms are modern and clean. This is the best boutique hotel in Carribean with the perfect location on St. Jean beach. Very chic and truly upscale. Go! Enjoy! You wil have a memorable vacation.

Room Tip: Room 6 is best location.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights of our honeymoon last June. It was off season and we rented the beach suite- I think there are 2. The room was fantastic- clean, tall ceilings, walk in shower, and an amazing baclony/deck area with an unobstructed view of St. Jean beach...which is the most happening beach in town. The restaurant/hotel/beach bar was hip and swankie with a great vibe as well. Staff exceptional.

Rent a car so you can explore other beaches and the rest of the island- Governor's Beach is a great one. We also kept groceries in our refrigerator for snacks, light meals and water. Nice way to avoid spending too much as the island is exceptionally expensive.

Overall an amazing stay, specifically the beachfront rooms.

hotel staff, location, beach, and even breakfast was all exceptional. only negatives were bathroom light has a motion sensor which goes off while your in there unless your moving constantly, and goes on at night when you really don't need it lighting up the room also this is not only a negative for this place, but the food in the restaurant as well as most of the other restaurants on the island is pretty bad. at least half the selections are raw, ie tatare, carpaccio, tataki. shashimi etc. it is as if these people have forgotten how to cook and raw is in.. i asked why that is and i was told that raw is healthy while the same person was blowing smoke in my face .... which brings me to another espina in my shoe about st barths,, they allow everyone to smoke while your are eating and i have forgotten how annoying it is..get your act together it isnt cool ...the restaurant in the eden rock smelled like a smoked in hotel room...imagine paying 35 for a burger and have to smell that instead

Room Tip: try to get beachfront

You might not think that a hotel hard up against the runway of the local airport would be appealing, but actually, the planes are fun to watch, if a little loud. (Relax, they stop taking off and landing at sundown and don't start up again until about 9:00AM.)

This is a gem of a hotel, just 12 rooms, with an outstanding and professional staff. The room we stayed in (room 7) was delightful and large, with a comfy bed and newly renovated bath. It also featured a generous patio with seating -- private enough to shed your wet things completely for you and them to dry outdoors. Very efficient air conditioning, well-stocked minibar. A delightful beachfront restaurant (breakfast included) was a great way to start the day, and the hotel gives its best Chaise/umbrellas to its guests.

Now: reading lighting is poor and we wish there were a floor lamp or even a regular desk lamp. And the price, at 450 Euros per night is not for all. But all in all, a very pleasant experience, abd you will not do any better on St. Barth's in February.

A few steps away from the best beach on the island; well-placed beach chairs; excellent whole day service; delicious food and great bar; music was superb. Rooms could be fancier, but are a great value, especially because of the location.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms close to the street; noisy in early morning; no privacy because of closeness to walks.
