Rather than write a lengthy review of all we loved, I am sharing a portion of a letter I wrote to the management. As background, we were delayed on St. Bart's at the end of our visit due to TS Irene, and Le Toiny was scheduled to close; nonetheless, they took excellent care of us. The staff is fantastic. The villas are gorgeous. The breakfasts wonderful and the restaurant is off the charts. A portion of my letter is below:
Dear Staff of Le Toiny,
We wanted to let you know what a delightful and wonderful time we had at your hotel. We must say now, and upfront, that your care for us during this unexpected Tropical Storm has been wonderful. We know you are attempting to close the hotel--but we never felt that you were pushing us out the door and your staff has remained professional at all times.
Thank you so much for making us extremely comfortable while we know you must really want to go home!
While we are filling out the comment card on our last night here, it does not leave enough room to tell you just how superior your hotel and service has been, and for that, we thank you very much. We had hoped to come here for our honeymoon seven years ago, but could not make it. Since that time, we have made plans to get here, and finally were able to this year. We both work high pressure jobs and the chance to relax here with such great service was truly a treat.
Your staff has done an excellent job. From the meeting at the airport (we missed our flight and David was extremely patient), to the end, our stay has been great.
Your staff has a wonderful and low key approach not to push spa services, the restaurant, etc. You let the services and your work speak for itself, which is refreshing and appreciated. Your staff has the right mix of attentiveness, yet not making it feel like the guest is watched. Yours is not a hotel of "no." Rather, your staff makes an attempt to accommodate any request.
Your hotel and restaurant manager are excellent. Your concierge staff has been accommodating and followed through on every request, perfectly. Le Gaiac has been wonderful, due to the wait staff, food quality and presentation. The room service waiter (also bartender at Le Gaiac) is excellent. The cleaning staff has been excellent and adjusted to our schedule.
We look forward to seeing you and visiting you again next year and will certainly recommend you to our friends and family.
