I often disregard terms like "difficult" when they are applied to hikes, but the combination of very slippery steps (at least when we climbed it) and relentless uphill make this a genuinely challenging hike. Appropriate shoes are a must! Weather made it too cloudy to get the view at the top, but that didn't matter - it was enough to simply feel immersed in the rain forest. Be VERY careful when going downhill - again (I can't emphasize this enough) - good footwear with traction is required. We could have benefited from walking sticks as well. Spectacular foliage, several encounters with engaging and entertaining wild roosters and hens, and great exercise to boot! Highly recommended.
