We have just returned from a weekend visit to Montserrat & took the boat trip with Troy yesterday. I was so glad we did. It is currently the only way to see Plymouth - an amazing sight. Troy was professional, punctual (noteworthy in the Caribbean :-) ) courteous & well informed. A truly great experience.

A bit over a year ago I had the privledge of diving with Troy & Melody. I neglected to write a review then. They are so accommodating in every way, delightful to spend time with and provide you great diving around the island. Be sure to plan on spending at least a day of great diving with them, then enjoy their company at the shop for a refreshing beverage. I would strongly recommend a "ting" afterward.

If you want to dive in Montserrat, you have to go to Green Monkey, you might think only one choice. It doesn't matter as the owners Troy and Melody make you feel at home straight away. Don't expect your kit to be put on your back etc this is not the maldives and if you want that sort of diving don't go to Montserrat. If you want an experience relaxed (can't to much else on montserrat) then this is the place. The diving is well thought out with a lot of areas to dive all on the leeward sheltered side if the island, so diving can be done in most weather and most dive sites are within 30 min of the little bay harbour. The diving is not on the scale of the southern Red Sea, very few corals, but the sponges are enormous, flying Cunnards are a laugh. water is warm no currents to speak of so all in all very relaxed diving.
Ohh look out for the coolest cat in the universe at the Bar just ask for whoopie.
Top Tip Hire a car montserrat might be small but it's very hilly and without one you will miss so much. The resturants are not 5* so don't expect it.

The Green Monkey dive shop - hire kayaks, hire snorkling kit, get directions for walks from Melody, learn to dive, improve your diving qualifications, dive on some really unspoilt dive sites, take a boat tour and see the island and Plymouth from the sea and if all this wears you out - revive yourself with a cold beer, sitting on the deck and just relax in good company listening to the waves. very nearly paradise.
