This is NOT a place to spend a romantic or relaxing Caribbean holiday. The beach is average and the beach chairs are packed together like sardines. In busy season when they would be full of smoking French tourists it would be a nightmare.
The rooms are average and incredibly overpriced. Very few have decent views.
The beach is not an ocean beach but opens onto the busy harbour of the capital city. (Nothing like the pristine clear waters of Antigua or St Lucia for example)
Everywhere we went in Martinique, the French were incredibly rude. Almost nothing anywhere was in English.
If you have to come here on business, this is a reasonable hotel, but for a holiday - forget it and go to St Lucia or Antigua.

Bad experience on this one. Staff is not friendly at all. First morning we had to wait for a table for breakfast for about 20 minutes. When tired of standing we choose a table which was not yet covered in order to wait for it to be covered and the staff started shouting at us in public. Staff was not really helpfull with exception of some French staff-people but the creole staff did a good job at chasing away the guests.
Rooms are OK. The pool is great and the only thing we enjoyed, but when we tried to enjoy in the evenings and at night for a quiet swim, other guests and staff looked at us as if we were doing something silly (which ruined are moment)
We paid about 200$ a night for this hotel (we booked through our tour operator). After that we learned that the hotel is mainly frequented by guests who come through the big european travel operators at a price which is not even half of what we payed. So we felt really screwed. The guests create a cheap club-atmosphere which would fit more to a cheap popular tourist spot in the Spanish costas such as Benidorm or Toremolinos.
Rumor went that this was by far the most luxurious and expensive hotel (that's why we didn't mind paying 200$) but we were disappointed. So this hotel gets a big thumb down. Never again. Never. Waste of money, waste of free time.
