“This is the best thing on this island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2014

Its hot, steamy and gorgeous. This is a tropical paradise that the locals don't fully appreciate.

I take all my guests here. They all love it. Go early to avoid the heat.
There is an admission charge and little souvenir / snack boutique.

“I love this Jardin de Balata”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

This park is very special because, a man did what he found was right. He bought this land which earlier belonged to his grandmother and he wanted to make a park with flowers and plants from all caribbean.
This place is big and it will take 2 hours to see everything and walk around. It is a good place also for children, as there is bridges made from wood and you can walk on them.
You can take a public bus out there from the remise.
I have been here twice and love the piecefull place!!

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

It´s one of the most beautiful gardens I Had been.
Lush tropical vegetation, in the middle of mountains and forests and same time sea view.Wonderful flowers everywhere,.shadow,, big trees, bamboos, water plants, orchids, etc.
Well marked.
Garden has suspended bridges that allow walking high beside top of trees and it´s a must.Bridge shakes and are high, and view is magnificent..

“Absolutely Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2014

The gardens are about 10 to 15 minutes from downtown Fort de France. We drove ourselves, the roads are good, but you need a map as there are no signs along the way. Taking a public bus might make more sense. Unfortunately, none of the signage is in English. The gardens are spectacular. Everything is nicely maintained, well laid out. It is on a mountainside, so plan on walking up and down a lot. There is a series of single file suspension walkways in the treetops that give you a very different view. The entry fee is a little high by US standards at €12.80, but worth it. Plan on about 2 hours to see everything. The boutique at the end has Magnum ice cream bars, so make sure you have another €2.80 in you pocket.

“Nice garden, expected a bit more flowers though”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

More flowers and less plants would be nice, but worth the visit anyway. There is a nice canopy walk in the park also
