Cap Est is far and away the best resort hotel on Martinique. Not that other island properties aren't great; Cap Est has simply raised the bar dramatically. Everything from the architecture, the decor, and the layout of the complex, to the amenities (spa, pool, activities) is outstanding. Think SoHo panache + Left Bank sensibilities combined with Martinique's own glories. It doesn't get any better. The staff is very professional and quite pleasant. Suites are sumptuous. The food - top notch (and surprisingly reasonable given its quality and lavishness). The only drawback is its location near Francois - far from the capital, from the Trios Islet area, from the southern beaches. But if you've come strictly to relax at the resort, you won't be disappointed. Make sure you get a room with a private pool. But be careful - you won't ever want to leave.
