Stayed here for a short vacation with my parents and two friends. The original rooms, which we had, are a good size and very individual , with a mix of Antique and family furniture. My husband and I stayed in Mimosa, which is a family room on two floors for up to six. Very low beams were a bit of a hazard and we both bumped our heads, but one end has a nice sea view and good breeze.. The bathroom is very small and in a closet. The more expensive rooms are in a newer block, have great views of the bay and nice repro/Antique furniture. They are above the restaurant and bar area and have good sized terrace/balconies. The staff were delightful and responsive to our requests. Most spoke some English and didn't laugh at our rudimentary French. The hotel seemed to run best when the owner/manager Yveline de Lucy was on hand. The restaurant is suprisingly good for a small hotel and we enjoyed two of the best meals of our visit to Martinique. It is a hotel of querky charm and offers good value. We paid around £100 per couple per night, including breakfast, dinner and drinks. Not bad for the Caribbean in high season. Be warned, although you get great sea views from the hotel, there is no access to the beach below . The hotel is surrounded by private houses which guard their privacy with large dogs and you are advised not to walk outside the hotel grounds.
