We just returned from Casa de Amistad yesterday, and it was positively one of coziest locations I have ever plunked my suitcase! If your idea of a vacation includes mingling with guests over a cup of coffee, swapping stories about your adventures from the day before, and gleaning helpful island advice from Owen, David, and Dan, then this is the place to stay!

We stayed in room 5, which did not have its own private bath, but this was not a problem for us in any way. There are rooms with their own private baths, and the owners will describe the rooms accurately when calling to book - it you want a bathroom in your room, just ask! Everything was clean and cared for - these guys really take pride in their establishment, and live right next to the property, so are typically available during the day when you need them. We aren't big partiers, so we usually ate early right off the beach, and hung out by the pool (and typically had the whole courtyard to ourselves at night!).

We are already consulting our calendars to reserve our next trip - the place is simply perfect. I miss it already, and was nearly homesick for the place when I emptied the sand from my suitcase this morning. Thanks for the memories, guys!

We had a great experience at the Casa de Amistad over Presidents' Day Weekend. Owen and Dan are wonderful hosts - knowledgeable, resourceful and extremely considerate of their guests.

The rooms are clean and modern, the towels are soft, fluffy and good-smellin' and the ambiance is relaxed and fun. We appreciated the air-conditioned rooms less for temperature control than for white noise (chickens sure do get up early!) - but it was nice all the same. Hot water was plentiful and the showers had good water pressure. So they have all of the basics completely down.

But it was all of the little things about Casa de Amistad that made our stay special. Like the great pool area and sun deck. And how they provide beach towels, chairs and coolers and will rent snorkel equipment. It was really nice to be able to leave that stuff at home and fit everything into a carry-on! Rooms have small refrigerators and there's access to a full kitchen as well - which was really nice for breakfast and for packing picnics to bring to the beach.

We had such a great time in Vieques. And we chalk a lot of that up to our stay at Casa de Amistad. Thank you, Owen and Dan!!!

The Casa de Amistad has got to be the best place to stay in Vieques! My boyfriend and I stayed there for 5 days in December, and it was incredible. Owen, the owner of the guesthouse, is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. He'll happily tell you all the great beaches on the island and good places to eat (Tuesdays and Thursdays at Coqui Fire Cafe!).

The guest house itself is tastefully and impressively decorated, each room with it's own air conditioner (not necessary for the comfortably cool nights-- but definitely necessary for the roaringly loud roosters and frogs that sing throughout the night). There is a mellow and relaxing vibe with lots of modernist and Caribbean flairs. The rooms are clean and have their own mini-fridges for whatever you want to bring home, a very good thing.

There is a lovely pool and an even better outdoor seating area-- a great place to enjoy morning coffee or late-night cocktails and meet the other friendly guests. Owen also offers snorkeling gear for rental and coolers to borrow for free. Another great perk: a lovely, cozy little rooftop deck for sun bathing, or better yet enjoying some take-out pizza at night and watch the clouds roll in (and face it, Isabel II doesn't exactly have the best dinner selection).

There's also a full kitchen to make light meals or heat up some leftovers, or make a blender-full of pina coladas. This was key because we were able to make lunches for the beach and enjoy mellow breakfasts when we woke up late.

Overall, the guest house is fantastic. The attention to detail is impressive, the place is very friendly (we made some great friends there!), clean, and fun. The kitchen was indispensable. Owen and David were really friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it!

as the title states, i cannot say enough good things about Casa de Amistad and the two wonderful men who run it. the guesthouse is very clean, beautifully decorated, and conveniently located just off the main strip in Isabel Segunda. Owen and David were exceptionally helpful from the minute we walked in the door. they pulled out a map and told us of the best beaches to visit and restaurants to eat at. it felt like we were welcome guests in someone's home rather than people passing through a hotel. many times during our stay, we fantasised that it was our own home.

the pool in the back terrace was a wonderful spot to cool down after a long day of beaching, and it was mesmerising watching the little lizard hopping around their verdant garden.

they had beach towels, beach chairs, and snorkel gear available, which was very convenient, and the rooftop deck was a great place to relax in the evening and watch the sunset.

we highly recommend that anyone going to Vieques and looking for a restful, relaxing, and very friendly experience stay at Casa de Amistad.
