“Great room for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

We spent 3 days here and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located about midway between the two towns (it's a small island, so just a 15-minute drive either way). You definitely need a car or other transportation to get around, but this is probably true for most places on Vieques. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and we were pleased with our room. It was spacious, with a kitchenette and full refrigerator so we were able to purchase fruit at a nearby stand, and keep some cold water handy. Rooms were kept clean and they serve a continental breakfast-- nothing special (cereal, juice and coffee), but it's served by the pool which is surrounded by a nice forested area. Maritza's Car Rental is right next door which is handy, and they (Maritz's) will take you to the airport when you leave.

I loved the pool but the dinner fell a bit flat. Beautiful views outside the room and the plant life was amazing. The staff were super nice and we had a nice stay overall.

Use to be hidden from the road by a small forest and had several large trees on the grounds, however my last visit I found that they were all cut down. An economical and eclectic place to stay, every room is a little bit different, most have a kitchenette. Staff is friendly and always willing to help. A local car rental is conveniently located just up the street. Located towards the middle of the island its neither close nor far to anywhere. Don't expect 5 star service, if you want that go somewhere else, things here are a bit laid back, the rooms are homey and comfortable.

Perfect for anyone wanting to escape into the Caribbean and not be found for a while.

Room Tip: The hotel can also make car reservations for you at a local car rental. If you need to check out ea...

We stayed here with another family while visiting the island. It was perfect for what we wanted. Inexpensive clean with a friendly staff. Nothing fancy but comfortable for all. There is even a pool that was cleaned daily and hardly used. Good choice for families.

I really enjoyed staying at the Crow's next and would definitely go back! It's a little more difficult to find a place for only 2 nights in Vieques, but they were very accommodating and we had a great room for a great price that didn't break the bank. Some have given negative reviews, but those cheapos need to realize that if they want Ritz-Carlton rooms they'll need to pay for them. There were a few mosquitoes we had to squash, but you're in a tropical climate, so for the price I thought it was well worth it, and I liked the adventurous feel it provided. It's nicely secluded about half-way in between Isabel Segunda & Esperanza. Ample parking, beautiful grounds, great pool area where they serve the continental breakfast, and a spectacular view!

Room Tip: Rooms vary depending on size of your party. I enjoyed having a room on the 2nd floor.

We stayed at The Crow's Nest during the holiday period, December 2011. However, after just one night we decided to move on as the standard of accommodation fell well below our expectations.

Our family room had poor quality, tired, old furniture and very uncomfortable beds. The ageing air conditioner was incredibly noisy and when switched off we were disturbed by the other noisy units in the surrounding rooms and restaurant.

The tiny bathroom had an ancient suite with a blocked shower head. The toilet was so close to the sink that it wasn't possible to stand properly at the sink or open the cupboard door beneath.

There was evidence of rodent infestation - large droppings on the windowsill and gnaw marks - which led us to re-name the hotel 'The Rat's Nest'.

On the positive side, the rooms and bedding were quite clean (aside from the droppings). There is a pool with excellent views over the garden and surrounding countryside. The restaurant seemed popular and was busy in the evening. There was free wifi - which we used to find another hotel!

The Crow's Nest is budget-style accommodation but not at a budget price.  We expected a lot better for the money.

This small, secluded and quiet hotel (inn) is located on a hill about 12 to 15 minutes from the island ferry terminal. Once you get there the hotel lobby is located right in front of it. The hotel employees were nice and welcoming. We had a few questions from the island beaches and they where very kind to answer them. We stayed in the second floor on a room with balcony. It was pretty clean, although it could've been cleaner. We were there for 3 nights and had planed to go to the beach, but decided to stay at the pool almost every day. It as so relaxing!

A few places that we went to where:

The Bioluminescent Bay (a most see only during the night), about 10 to 15 minutes from the hotel.

The "Fortin Conde de Mirasol", about 12 minutes away.

"Red Beach". Now, it's used to be very difficult to get to "Red Beach", but now its a lot better, and it will take you about 20 minutes to get there. But believe me it's worth it!

Oh, and one last thing. The view that we got of the island from this hotel was beautiful.
