This is my first time on tripadvisor, and after I stayed at Bananas I wanted to write about the wonderful time I had. I went to Vieques because I have heard from friends that it is an amazing place to visit and I have never been to the Caribbean before. I emailed Bananas and received an email back instantly which usually does not happen. From reading other people's reviews, I was a little hesitant but my friend recommended it so I decided to book. From the moment that I got to Vieques, I felt so welcome, and felt like I was part of the family when I checked into Bananas! The staff was so friendly and were so helpful with the suggestions that they made (whether it be bio-bay or another restaurant to try) Even when the office staff seemed busy, they helped me with a smile. The pina coladas were the best that I have ever tasted, and the waitresses and bartenders were so friendly and seemed eager to help me. I have traveled alone many places but I have never felt so welcome as I did at Bananas! I will definitely be back again!
- Also Known As:
- Bananas Guesthouse Hotel
- Bananas Guesthouse Hotel Isla De Vieques
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Bananas is on island time: the clock in our bar landed on happy hour and never gains a minute. Come from the beach for a burger or salad, or stroll in at sunset for a pina colada. The office staff is always happy to guide you through options for transportation, bio bay and other activities. Island time means no worry, no hassle. We don't do wake up calls. In fact, our rooms don't have phones, or TV. They are comfortably furnished with an island decor and we don't scrimp on the towels. We are happy to point the way to the best snorkeling or swimming beaches, suggest kayaking, reef or fishing trips, tours of the bioluminescent bay and recommend dining spots on the island (but don't tell our chef)! Leave it all behind when you come here. ... more less
